Hong Kong's leader withdraws extradition bill that ignited mass protests

Hong Kong’s leader, Carrie Lam, has said her government will formally withdraw an extradition bill that has ignited months of protests and plunged the territory into its biggest political crisis in decades.

In a five-minute televised address on Wednesday, Lam said her government would formally withdraw the controversial bill to “fully allay public concerns”.

The bill, which would have allowed the extradition of suspects to China to be tried under the mainland’s opaque judicial system, prompted the start of mass protests in June that have led to increasingly violent confrontations with police and the arrest of more than 1,000 people.

Kudos to the people of Hong Kong. More balls than most Americans. Protest do work if you are on the right side of the issue!

You lefties are a bunch of nutless soyboys. You said the HK protesters had "a lot more balls" than most Americans. I tried to clarify for you that the HK protesters were embracing the US as they struggled for their freedom. You liberal soy boy types don't like the US of A all that much. You and your liberal cohorts are the Americans with no balls.

You are still not making any sense or proving a point with the above nonsensical drivel. What exactly were these protestors "embracing" about the US? The rise of white supremacist groups or the ubiquitous mass shootings?

Freedom from tyranny does apply when the USA has devolved enough to allow a wannabe dictator in The Oval Office who praises ruthless tyrannical murderous dictators throughout the world. Our justice system is also broken and needs to be fixed before it can be held up as a model for anyone so that is also a moot point.
