THIRD WORLD SHITHOLE, OR DEMOCRAT-DOMINATED AMERICAN CITY?

Infectious diseases—some that ravaged populations in the Middle Ages—are resurging in California and around the country, and are hitting homeless populations especially hard.

Los Angeles recently experienced an outbreak of typhus—a disease spread by infected fleas on rats and other animals—in downtown streets. Officials briefly closed part of City Hall after reporting that rodents had invaded the building.

People in Washington State have been infected with the diarrheal disease shigella, spread through feces, as well as Bartonella quintana, or trench fever, which spreads through body lice.

Hepatitis A, also spread primarily through feces, infected more than 1,000 people in Southern California in the past two years. The disease also has erupted in New Mexico, Ohio, and Kentucky, primarily among people who are homeless.

“Our homeless crisis is increasingly becoming a public-health crisis,” California Governor "Twosome" Newsom said, citing outbreaks of hepatitis A in San Diego County, syphilis in Sonoma County, and typhus in Los Angeles County. “Typhus,” he said. “A medieval disease. In California. In 2019.”

The diseases spread quickly and widely among people living outside or in shelters, helped along by sidewalks contaminated with human feces, crowded living conditions, weakened immune systems, and limited access to health care.

“The hygiene situation is just horrendous” for people living on the streets, says Glenn Lopez, a physician who treats homeless patients in Los Angeles. “It becomes just like a Third World environment, where their human feces contaminate the areas where they are eating and sleeping.”

Jeffrey Duchin, the health officer for Seattle and King County, Washington, which has seen shigella, trench fever, and skin infections among homeless populations, says, “It’s a public-health disaster.”

That's the thing. Conservatives like to obsess about the problems of cities in liberal areas. But if you judge by the bottom line --by how much people are willing to spend for the privilege of living in an area-- even the worst of the "liberal cities" are viewed as better than the conservative alternatives (urban or rural). When people jabber on the Internet, they're free to make up any old nonsense. But when people have to put their money where their mouths are, you get a sense for what they really think. And they generally think that living in liberal areas is worth paying a premium.

Then why do you city slobs come to our rural areas to retire?

Coincidence? I think not. Prove me wrong.

16,000 people in L.A. now live in cars, vans and RVs. But safe parking remains elusive https://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-homeless-safe-parking-los-angeles-20190610-story.html

No, they're idiots because they pay premiums for the same things the rest of us can get for less.

Indeed. The radical Democrat Socialists always put illegals ahead of law abiding American citizens. Always.

I just read about my birthtown of Dayton Ohio. I'd say it's a good bit more conservative, but like many places it has a higher Murder rate then Chicago. Most of these people that are haters, have never been to these places, and they are just propaganda talking points. 3 places they focus more then anyplace, Chicago, L.A. and San Fransisco. You could also add Portland, OR, and Seattle. I love when they pick on Portland, since it has been rated the best in numerous categories among cities. Most of the haters, are rural, and haven't set foot near a big city like those. I quite frankly really enjoyed walking around Chicago. We went from the train Station, and walked through several regions of Chicago, Carrying just a suitcase each.

If people really wanted to think seriously about the issues of urban decay and crime, St. Louis would be an illuminating place to look. Its people are being killed at a rate almost three times that of Chicago and it has about twice Chicago's violent crime rate, overall, as well as a property crime rate about 85% higher than Chicago's. And the weird thing is it's not because St. Louis is particularly poor. It's not as rich as Boston, Seattle, or San Francisco, but it's actually richer, in median income terms, than Chicago, NYC, L.A., Portland, and plenty of other big cities. Economically, it has plenty to work with. Yet, in terms of sociological factors, like crime, life expectancy, etc., it's practically a third-world nation. Yet Fox News hasn't instructed the right-wing drones to buzz around the troubles of that city, so they ignore it, in favor of much healthier liberal-region cities that are their assigned bete noires.

This explains St Louis’ problem:

“With the retirement of four-term mayor Francis Slay, Krewson entered a crowded seven-way Democratic primary–the real contest in this heavily Democratic city. St. Louis has not elected a Republican mayor since 1949.”

Democrat.

again America can look and see that every rat hole in America is the result of liberal policy.

California is the bellweather to what will happen to the entire country if Democrats get their way

Lol, yes, massive homeless populations, and feces literally running in the street, along with heaps of rotting trash and rat infestation.

Exactly my point. Every city has its problems, just as every community does. But the mindless right-wing drones dutifully obsess over assigned problems in a handful of liberal cities. Meanwhile, the residents of those cities are, on average, happier, healthier, and wealthier than the large majority of places those right-wingers come from. If you look at actual measures of those things, like suicide rates, life expectancies, obesity rates, median incomes, incarceration rates, educational attainment, etc., you see that these places the conservatives imagine as Hell on Earth are, in fact, much nicer places to live than their own home towns.
