The problem with that is we've already got what were marketed as measures that would prevent all of that and they only appear to have made things worse. Making it harder for the law-abiding to defend themselves doesn't do anything to stop criminals or nutbags, in fact, it helps them do even more damage.

The first greatest step would be guarantee the mother (based on verifiable bench marks) a safe environment, pre natal and post natal health care for the child and the mother, and subsidized job training and living until she becomes a tax payer.

It would be much cheaper than these stupid state laws that keep getting overturned in court.
