Another Traitor Monument Comes Down

thats ok monuments to traitors is a good start

Ah yes closed minds like yours are the reason it took well over a 100 years for this country to overcome most of it's racism. Yes some still exists thanks to people who think like you. "Newton's third law is: For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction."

The people complaining are only conservative southern Republicans and the reason they are complaining is because they identify
with the lost cause of slavery as their personal heritage and see removal of statues lauding and magnifying their forefathers as
evidence of decline and fall of their power and importance in the USA and evidence of victory of minorities over them.

That's why.

are you really this ^^^^ stupid?

not possible right?

You mean like this rewriting of history in Texas h.s. textbooks? lol

"Coby Burren was reading his textbook, sitting in geography class at Pearland High School near Houston, when he noticed a troubling caption. The 15-year-old quickly took a picture with his phone and sent it to his mother.

"Next to a map of the United States describing "patterns of immigration," it read that the Atlantic slave trade brought "millions of workers [emphasis mine] from Africa to the southern United States to work on agricultural plantations.""

I'm afraid you're on a hiding to nothing. Nobody on this whole earth is as stupid and insensitive as right-wing Americans. They can't really believe that anyone but themselves and their Fuhrer actually exists, let alone have a lot more to say that's relevant.

what a divisive, 19th century , uninformed view of this great country

the point is, in erasing history because you are suddenly, only after Trump beat the Beast know as Hillary offended by monuments to our history.
Both checkered and regretful as some of that history may be, is just an asinine triggered reactionary exercise in futility.
read that back to yourself.

how about George Washington, he owned slaves,
rename the bridge, take him off the dollar bill, out of the history books in our schools. Jefferson too?

So who gets to decide what offends us? you? me?
History is history, the civil war means something different to some people than others.
Southerners , some, still view it as a people standing up for their independence. That the North was using money form the cotton crop to industrialize Northern States ignoring the farmer.

do yourself a favor, go read a book, this countries history is awash with a multitude of triumph as well as bad decisions, confusion, coming together. in a word "History"
that you want to erase because you are mad.
grow up

Same old. Same old. The history-phobes can't tell the difference between history and the present. History is history. Can't be changed. Civilizations everywhere have one. Some things good, some things bad. We move on. Learn, do better. Can't cry over spilled milk.

you are being stupid again

And you aren't?
What has been achieved? What has been achieved from prior acts of violence? You idiots and your violence can't even get the state government's attention. What are you trying to prove? If this is what it's about, blacks have every chance of making themselves successful as whites. There are a lot of blacks who attend colleges, smart ones too. You would think smart enough to know they are fortunate, not cry about the past.

Funny thing is, you're praising one of the most diverse schools in the country.

Funny the polls don't show that!

"In a new HuffPost/YouGov poll, a third of Americans favor removing statues and memorials of Confederate leaders, with 49 percent opposed. Just 29 percent of Americans favor changing the names of streets, schools and buildings commemorating Confederate leaders, while half are opposed.Opinions on the Confederate memorials are divided along racial lines, but to an even greater degree along political ones. Black Americans are 18 percentage points likelier than white Americans to favor removing statues of Confederate leaders ― but the gap between Democrats and Republicans on the question is 46 points. And the difference between Hillary Clinton voters and those who supported President Donald Trump in last year’s election is a full 58 points.
Within the Democratic Party, white and black people are about equally likely to favor removing the statues: 64 percent and 63 percent, respectively, say they’d like to see them taken down. There are differences, however, by ideology among the party’s members ― 77 percent of self-described liberal Democrats, but just 40 percent of self-described moderates or conservatives ― want to see the statues removed.
Most other surveys released in the past few weeks find at best modest support for removing Confederate memorials, although two distinctively-worded questions stand out in these results."

Fifty-one per cent of American voters and 100% of Republicans believe their arse is their elbow. Heil Trumpf!

You are being dishonest but you likely know that

Tear down bigoted Omar then..........a living monument to the present.

Since we're tearing down bigots, might as well tear down Fox News, Breitbart, Evangelical Christianity, the NRA, the GOP, Trump, and Conservatism in general.

I'm a conservative Southern Republican and I'm not complaining. I'm just commenting that Democrats are trying to erase their history.
