The sheer GENIUS of PRESIDENT TRUMP declaring the Border Crisis a National Emergency

That is good news, But we are not discussing what the Obama administration did to improve border security.

We are discussing the 30' high, beautiful, reinforced concrete wall from sea to shining sea that Mexico was going to pay for.

None of that has been built...and my guess is that none of it will ever be built.

What is your guess, Earl?
His guess is that in 1988, there was some fencing built on the Southern border.

That, and the fact that he's grossly incompetent. He isn't qualified to run the country, but he's over qualified to sling crap into a fan and watch as the results amuse him.

Aside from just being old and out of touch...he's always been delusional. Doesn't matter if you're acting like a billionaire on a reality show. Not so good if you accidentally became the leader of the U.S.

I could weep for our country.. We have made a horrible mistake electing Trump.

It's become a fascination now. We can only wonder how much damage he can do before his ass is kicked out of the White House.

He/Bannon promised to destroy the nation. They aren't quite there yet, but it's a good start.

Republicans controlled both houses of Congress for two years and you're blaming Dems for not wanting to fund a wall? I guess repubs were willing to put the security of the American people at risk.

Ummm ... the "repub" House did pass a budget bill that included $5.7 billion for wall funding.

:palm:

But most of us knew that all Trump supporters are jerk-offs.

Hope the weather is nice where you are, Dog. We're still cold up here.

The 5.7 billion passed the House, but failed to garner enough democrat support in the Senate to meet the 60 vote threshold.

Being in Md., I'm not going to complain about 'cold" to a New Yorker, lol. :0)

So you admit that some repubs were willing to "put the security of the American people at risk", well done.

Can you explain why those repubs were willing to "put the security of the American people at risk", since the GOP is supposed to be the only party that cares about national security.

Also, some Dems were willing to go along with the wall in exchange for getting a path to citizenship for the DREAMERS.

Now that trump will try to do an end run around Congress to get wall money, is a path to citizenship for DREAMERS still on the table?

Everything you write has to be checked for factual accuracy, sorry about that. :palm:

I voted for DJT because he is an outsider, third party candidate.

:dunno:

Fact Check: The "repub" House passed 5.7 billion in funding for the wall.

Fact Check: The democrats don't give a fuck about the Dreamers, now.

Because it should have not been that complicated and hard to get funding for national border security.
They didn't care about that. They were too busy trying to take healthcare away from millions of people, and creating huge budget deficits via tax giveaways to billionaires/corporations.

Now it's an emergency?

Edit...if you remember, trump had about $40 billion in his pocket, but backed off at the last minute in denial of DACA.

I answered your question. Let me know when you have a rebuttal :palm:

Which brings us back to the question:

Then why didn't he declare a national emergency then?

Yeah, I know what you mean.

Actually...a rather nice day up here today. Still cold...but, it is February. Spring is not that far away!

The president was expecting Congress to do their duty and secure our border. They did not and he did his and declared a national emergency.

The president has the authority to declare a national emergency as he sees fit. Of course the Ninth will say differently but President Trump will prevail at the Supreme Court. This will take months and more illegals (non-citizens) will pour across our borders which is what Democrats wanted. Potential (and actual) illegal Democrat votes. Party ahead of the security of the American people.
