The ones with big fancy mortgages and blue state tax policy, yeah. People in states like mine with reasonable cost of living saw their taxes go down. We never used all our exemptions and settled for the standard deduction. Now we got to keep the tax amount on a doubled standard deduction. Woo hoo! For renters it's awesome. I just bought my house but I have no mortgage so no interest to deduct. And my taxes were a mere $2500 for the year on the house. I'll see another year where my tax liability is about the same. I am just one person do all the work for a business so the numbers are pretty small after expenses. I could easily hide income for which I don't receive a 1099, but I'm honest and I pay my share.

If AFTER your PROMISED TAX CUT, in your 26 checks, and then after APRIL 15th of the following year, your TOTAL TAX due and you realize no EXTRA MONIES over Trump's promise, then you got fucked!

This is easy. If you are doing your taxes every year and get approx the same amount back every year, and this year you get less, it is easy to surmise it was taken by Trump's tax plan. The only change is what you get back.

if you do your taxes every year, the amount of taxes due is the only number that matters.....you look at the number BEFORE you deduct taxes paid from your W2.......

It's you who are spinning. Ask an accountant, the tax rates went down, it's simply irrefutable. Granted, the rates weren't cut that much, so, you might not notice much of an increase in your weekly take home, but it's there. Do you think Hillary would have cut taxes?

Here are the new tax rates. Show us where they went up.

What I said was your tax liability rose, despite your rate being cut. So that's where we are now. And furthermore, you said before you hadn't even done your 2018 taxes yet, so how would you know what you did or didn't get?

This comes after lying about the Russia Tax Cut affecting your 2017 taxes, before the Russia Tax Cut took effect.

That simple little lie undermined your entire argument, your character, and your beliefs.

It's sad that you have to feel you need to lie in order to lend your argument credibility it doesn't otherwise have.

The rate may be lower, but you raised the liability. So in the long run, the middle class loses out.

"You're too stupid to appreciate we raised your tax liability" isn't exactly a strong campaign message for 2020.

This is my last post to this dead horse thread. Something I realized though: You say that I am lying about my tax situation, but at the same time, you admit that YOUR tax situation changed during the same time frame. Are you lying? I also specifically remember pelousy saying that these tax cuts were "peanuts". My refund was $666. NOT peanuts to me. If your refund was lower by 8.4%, and you were counting on a refund of $5000, your refund was short $420. Is that peanuts to you?
