Washington (CNN)While some Republicans say they don't want the Senate to consider Merrick Garland, President Barack Obama's nominee to the Supreme Court, a few prominent GOP voices have said some nice things about him in the past.

The chief judge for the Washington, D.C. appeals court was confirmed in 1997 by 76-23 after being appointed by former President Bill Clinton.

Hatch has perhaps offered the most visible praise for Garland among those senators. But he released a statement Wednesday saying he still believes candidates should wait for the next president to replace the late Justice Antonin Scalia.

"I think highly of Judge Garland. But his nomination doesn't in any way change current circumstances," he said. "I remain convinced that the best way for the Senate to do its job is to conduct the confirmation process after this toxic presidential election season is over."

We will reiterate! Joe Biden said that such a process shouldn't take place until after the election.

It wasn't THEIR, it was Obama's and the only reason you whine is because the black President didn't get his appointee.

actually no.....the perjury was in the Paula Jones trial, not the investigation........the investigation didn't uncover the perjury......it was started BECAUSE of the perjury.......I bet you guys wish the Mueller investigation had had an actual crime to begin it instead of having to go look for one.....

Yeah, I know. When Mueller released the finding to you, you were able to make that decision. We all thought the investigation was ongoing. You should give us all the info you have.
Some of us thought that a foreign nation interfering in our election was against the law. thanks for proving it wasn't. We even thought campaign violations were illegal. Guess they aren't.
