Things fell apart quickly as Whitaker tried to run out the clock when asked if he was ever asked to approve or disapprove an action by Mueller.

Here was the exchange:

Funny that in this administration, the people now accept that Whitaker, the pretend AG and Sessions the real AG, are the president's lawyers. He is supposed to be the people's lawyer. He is supposed to be independent. Now that is gone. I hope not forever.

Where is it written that AG is independent

Is the AG a fourth branch of government or is it under the Executive Branch reporting to the President?

Only in that the prez nominates an AG. The Senate approves or rejects. The prez can fire the AG, paying severe political costs. However, if you were alive during Nixon, you would;ld know that Nixon ordered the AG to fire the prosecutor and he refused. Then Nixon canned him. Then the next one did the same. Then a 3rd. They did not follow the presidents directive. Three acted as the independent AGs they were.

Where is it written that they are to be independent? Because if they truly are then the President can’t fire them right?
