We win; they lose. Ronald Reagan
One reading of Trump’s SOTU is all that I needed to know that it was a pep talk for his voters that will not move America-hating Democrats one inch away from their worldview.

All in all Trump’s SOTU was okay for what it is. I am not going to comment in-depth, but I do have a few observations.
There was nothing wrong with reminding youngster that:
On D-Day, June 6, 1944, 15,000 young American men jumped from the sky, and 60,000 more stormed in from the sea, to save our civilization from tyranny. Here with us tonight are three of those heroes: Private First Class Joseph Reilly, Staff Sergeant Irving Locker, and Sergeant Herman Zeitchik. Gentlemen, we salute you.
Democrats must have choked on “. . . save our civilization from tyranny . . .” since their governing philosophy is all about big government tyranny.
Trump’s Bible-thumping was bit over the top for my taste:
In 1996, at age 30, Matthew was sentenced to 35 years for selling drugs and related offenses. Over the next two decades, he completed more than 30 Bible studies, became a law clerk, and mentored fellow inmates. Now, Matthew is the very first person to be released from prison under the First Step Act.
It is okay that one guy saw the error of his ways. On the other hand crediting the Bible with salvation came pretty close to ignoring the separation of church and state. Basically, Trump could have plugged the First Step Act without tying it to the Bible.
Trump stubbed his toe on this one:
We passed a massive tax cut for working families and doubled the child tax credit.
Tax cuts is the biggest government con job of all. They mean doodly-squat so long as income is taxed. The income tax is Socialism’s paymaster. Trump wants to move the country forward while the income tax can only take the country backwards.
Just look at how the Democrat Party’s Communism/Socialism agenda is a return to the past through taxation. A look at the basic structure of past governments confirms my view; not only concerning America’s ancestral European governments, but all governments going back to the dawn of civilization.
A final observation:
My Administration has sent to the Congress a commonsense proposal to end the crisis on our southern border.
It includes humanitarian assistance, more law enforcement, drug detection at our ports, closing loopholes that enable child smuggling, and plans for a new physical barrier, or wall, to secure the vast areas between our ports of entry. In the past, most of the people in this room voted for a wall — but the proper wall never got built. I’ll get it built.
This is a smart, strategic, see-through steel barrier — not just a simple concrete wall. It will be deployed in the areas identified by border agents as having the greatest need, and as these agents will tell you, where walls go up, illegal crossings go way down.
San Diego used to have the most illegal border crossings in the country. In response, and at the request of San Diego residents and political leaders, a strong security wall was put in place. This powerful barrier almost completely ended illegal crossings.
The border city of El Paso, Texas, used to have extremely high rates of violent crime — one of the highest in the country, and considered one of our Nation’s most dangerous cities. Now, with a powerful barrier in place, El Paso is one of our safest cities.

Simply put, walls work and walls save lives. So let’s work together, compromise, and reach a deal that will truly make America safe.

Everything Trump said about walls fell far short of controlling immigration policies. Had Trump included hairy balls in his pep talk he could have shoved that football right up Pelosi’s rear end by challenging her to repeal every law that created today’s threat to national security. Instead of hanging Nutso & Company out to dry, Trump gave both parties an opportunity to kick the can over, under, and around the wall.
Finally, I once believed that the American people would someday take an important step on the evolutionary road to individual liberty; that is to say freedom from oppressive government through limited representative government. I had hoped that it would happen in my lifetime whatever that advance turned out to be. I now believe that instead of moving forward the American people are going backwards. If not going in reverse, it is at least fair to say that the Democrat Party has so locked this country into the evil ways of past governments it has become impossible to move forward.
The U.S. Constitution gave Americans, and much of the world, the highest standard of living for the most people, but it did not provide the machinery necessary to take one important step forward in the field of government and private sector intercourse since the Bill of Rights was ratified. It is those missing components that allow Democrats to tear down the parts they despise.
Look at it this way. Americans have been in a holding pattern since 1945.
Nobody ever defended anything successfully, there is only attack and attack and attack some more. George S. Patton
In short: Attack and attack for more liberty rather than fight to hold on to what you have.
NOTE: Democrats shout bipartisanship in order to trick Americans into their holding pattern. Every time Democrats call for bipartisan legislation they attack and take more.
Sad to say Trump never offers anything to conservative Americans. Yesterday’s SOTU was more of nothing.
