The only time I heard the term Recon Ranger was in a military PT running song ...

"I wanna be a Recon Ranger.
I wanna live the life of danger.
When I say Ranger ... you say Danger!
When I say Danger ... you say Ranger!
Ranger !.... (reply) Danger! ... etc..

I guess Nathan was listening and thought it was something real :palm:
 
Don Shipley, in his video, had not seen this one, where Chief Stolen Valor says, “Well, as a Vietnam veteran....”

He says it at about 1:05.





Too bad for him the interweb has a long memory.

I understand how hard it is for those on the right to actually read what was written, or posted, but read the article, and quit being the fool. CNN admitted they misunderstood what he said:

"But the transcript does not match the audio. In the video (at around :39), Phillips quite clearly says, "And I'm a Vietnam-times veteran, and I know that mentality..." indicating not that he was in combat in Vietnam, but that he was in the military during that time and he remembers when crowds would taunt soldiers in uniform, and how it feels to be surrounded.

A second reference to Vietnam in the transcript (which bears the caveat that it was "lightly edited for flow and content") does not appear in the audio on the page at all, making what he said impossible to check against the text."
