It really isn't good for consumers.. Instability in the ppb hurts everyone including domestic producers. We've seen it before.
So its bad for producers not consumers.
Its bad for everyone.. The objective of OPEC since the 1960s has been to maintain stability in price and supply.
If the price goes too low, domestic producers shut down, stop drilling and exploration and lay off oil workers.
You remember 1985-86? Papa Bush begged the Saudis to raise the ppb because Texas was in terrible shape.. Heavy unemployment. The housing market collapsed and housing was dirt cheap.. Sellers would also throw in their boat and furniture.. Soon you had the SNL crisis.
So now the left cares about oil workers? I thought we needed green tech anyway.

Do you realize that the US has the highest lift costs in the world and oil company profit margins have remained at 6% for many decades?

Liberals seem to think that low gas prices are bad.
I am concerned it is an economic canary in a coal mine, but I don't go to the places in the $1.70's because they have huge lines and some of them manage to end up in situations where nobody else can get in until somebody else leaves but people cannot leave because of the people trying to get in jamming traffic at the entrance. I will gladly pay a dime more a gallon at a place I can be in, filled up, and out of in 10 minutes or less.

Because there doesn't seem to be a rational explanation for our gas prices that were already stable and well below the national and state average to drop over 60 cents a gallon in about 6-7 weeks. There wasn't even this much of a drop during the Great Recession.
Supply and demand?
