Flynn and his partner Alex Copson stood to make big money via a nuclear power plant project across the Mid East. It was in negotiations for years. Many countries would participate, including Russia.

When the sanctions were imposed, that shut Russia out of this money making extravaganza.

Flynn worked covertly, before the elections, and promised Kislyak that the sanctions would be 'ripped up' right after the inauguration.

Flynn accused the president of taking on some "really lousy policies" regarding ISIS even though he had access to very accurate intelligence, and suggested that Obama lied about what he knew. He also said that the intel-skewing scandal investigation needs "to start right at the top."

General Flynn began by defending the intelligence-gathering capabilities of the intelligence agencies.

"I would tell you that the accuracy and the warnings that have been provided on the rise of radical Islam over the last few years have been very very clear, so what the president has actually received from the national intelligence system is pretty good intelligence. I would say it's very accurate. So what he's done with that intelligence -- from what we can tell -- he's taken on this really lousy policy..."

Asked by Kelly if it's possible that Obama was -- as the White House claims - surprised by the rise of ISIS, Flynn suggested as tactfully as he could -- that the White House was lying.

Sounds a bit like Flynn got on the wrong side of some people and it goes back to Obama being ‘surprised’ at the rise of ISIS. That certainly explains some things.

All true, but it's important to remember that Flynn had business deals involving Russia, as trump did. Flynn already had a foothold with key Russians, so he blended nicely with trump's profiteering agenda.

Which is why the trump children, along with Flynn, promised the lifting of sanctions when Russia succeeded in getting trump elected.

trump definitely has a fascination with generals. But this was a twofer. A co conspirator, and a bunch of shiny medals.

And...lest we forget...anyone who praises trump is 'in the club'.
