Why do you care what two secular gays say?
Because marriage is a Biblical institution, and Homosexuality is an abomination to God so as a Christian I should not participate in something that is an abomination and a sin. Personally I would have been fine with civil unions, in a way to say here have the same protections but leave marriage alone, and actually I would prefer they abstain from their sinful lust for the same sex.

I believe that is between them and God. I really don't think God needs American Conservatives judging people here on Earth. If they are right married gay people will be judged by God. If they are wrong, they will be. Personally, I dont think it is any of my business either way.

If one is going to use biblical teachings about homosexuality...the part about putting them to death has to be included.

The Bible was written under God’s inspiration over a period of 1,500 years or so through various periods where God dealt with his people in different ways. Not everything that the Bible designed for God’s people Israel under the judges or under the kings or that God designs for Christians under the apostles in the New Testament is the same. Putting to death adulterers, putting to death homosexuals, putting to death the sons who curse their parents, all these penalties belonged to a particular season in the history of God’s dealings with his covenant people, and those dealings have changed dramatically with the coming of God’s Son Jesus Christ into the world. That is the basic nature of the Bible and of redemptive history. It is like dietary laws Jesus says in the New Testament that it's not what goes into a mans mouth that defiles him but what comes out. Then there is the instance where God told Peter not to call anything uncleaan that God called clean!

Those so-called protections that you're fine with didn't exist for heterosexual marriage before. And, they're not "protections" but rather the state-empowerment to victimize others, to force them to support homosexual acts and to engage in homosexual activities (such as producing homosexual art). Only shithead libs think freedom comes from the government.
Same-sex "marriage" is better than Civil Unions because with Civil Unions libbies would always cry about being oppressed, even if they had all the same "protections." "Why can't we be married" they'd always chant. Also, "Civil Unions" and its "Partners" would further corrupt society because these terms would always be used alongside traditional terms, giving homos constant and explicit billing. Not to mention that you ever referred to your business "partner", people would think you're a faggot.
One of the most shitty things fake Christians do is blame the Bible for their opposition to same-sex marriage. Is your goal to teach the public that the Bible is "homophobic"? Do you have no concept of morality? Homosexual acts are immoral. The state has no interest in encouraging such destructive behavior. The state has an interest to encouraging traditional marriage to reduce welfare costs.
