Nobody ever argued that the sleazy scam that Obama's illegal, trillion-dollar health care takeover was built on wasn't luring people into nanny state dependence (at the expense of health care, fiscal sanity, basic rights and liberties, etc). That WAS the argument against it, early and often. Duh.



This was known and talked about (and part of the age-old 'screw everything and everyone for Democrat power' strategy of the left) from the beginning. People don't want to take perceived benefits away, even when they watched with their own eyes as the system that more than 80% of Americans were happy with was obliterated by said "benefits" over a fake crisis.

Obamacare opponents (sane people) have always acknowledged that Democrats are skillful demagogues and scam-artists. This is nothing new.



More than a trillion dollars to shred the Constitution, further bankrupt the country, and make everything worse for health care? "Requires the necessary tweaking" is the understatement of the century.

Obamacare was never designed to completely lower costs; what it was designed to do was brunt the impact of rising costs by either slowing them down, or by providing subsidies to those who qualify. In that, it succeeded, and you can see that plainly in the fact that premium increases post-ACA were slower than increases pre-ACA, and the fact that 24 million people gained coverage.

The primary reason healthcare is so expensive is that people who don't have it still get care and those of us that have done what is necessary to provide it to ourselves get charged more. There's an easy way to stop it. You don't have coverage, three options apply. Pay for it yourself, get a bleeding heart like you that claims you care to pay for it on your behalf, or do without. I don't really give a shit as long as those who have done the responsible thing aren't footing the bill for those that refuse to do so.

Health care and health insurance are two completely different things.

The reason 80% of Americans were happy with the health care system was because most of them are on government health care. More people are enrolled in Medicare than any single insurance plan. More people are enrolled in Medicaid than any single insurance plan. More people are enrolled in the VA than any single insurance plan. S-CHIP covers about 15 million kids. All told, about 1/3 of the American population is already on some kind of government-run insurance plan. So that's why so many people were happy.

Gallup patient satisfaction surveys confirm that point...Americans with government-run insurance plans are the most satisfied.

There's an easy way to save lots of money. Get rid of SCHIP and require the parents of those kids to do for their own what they demand those of us that aren't their parents be forced to do. It's a sad day when a kid's own parents won't do for their own.
