"Make America Rich Again"

i love good jokes. even those in bad taste - i'm not even bound by PC rules of what is off limits -the human condition is laughable considering all the worrying and depression and envy and greed and war..and then we croak out anyways..

Still there are some serious matters at hand, and my biggest criticism of Dems is they are so far gone with TDS
they can't even rally behind obvious stuff like China..even the Russiaphobes are starting to get the idea the biggest threat facing us is not Russia -not by a long shot. it's China.

When confronted da resistance sez " well the Republicans did it too" like de-ligitimization/impeachment is just another political play.. It was screwed up when the Repubs did it, and the Special Counsel was founded on horseshit Russian collusion, but hey! it's all good... Just kill Trump by any means necessary
I don’t want Trump killed, I don’t want him impeached, either, you would know that if you paid attention, Ill wait till he resigns or is voted out.

Goal post moving once, again. I showed where I have supported Trump, you claimed I never have.

I am serious about immigration, you once again make claims that are incorrect. I believe in strengthening our borders but a wall is a antiquated, expensive and unnecessary. American needs immigrants. I’ve talked about changing the migrant workers right to work here, making seasonal work permits easier to obtain. I don’t support unlimited illegal immigration, I know very few people who do, but I do support asylum seekers, and a process to verify them which is whatever already do. I support DACA and a path to citizenship.
lame "support".

of course "America needs immigrants" -does it need unskilled Guatamala dirt farmers who want to rush the borders? No. you can't even differentiate unskilled illegal immigration from "immigrants"

You don't understand just how effective walls are - they have been popping up across the world for that reason.
I even gave examples of these, and then you go back to parroting the same nonsense they are "antiquated".

Ya on migrant workers - but if they refuse to leave then what? are you going to support ICE deporting them?

You look at the world thru liberal rose colored glasses.
effective immigration policy means effective enforcement at all levels -even when it's painful to watch

Ok if you say so. You are like the only Dem who doesn't want him out by any and all means possible if true.

How do you know the asylum seekers are unskilled? You assume much. There are many types of skills, even cleaning a hotel room requires skills.

Yes, I support deportation but, again, on a case by case basis. I did not support the deportation of the business owner who lived in this country for decades and contributed to it, or the young man who served in our military.

No, his not going was shameful, it was a joke that the reason he didn’t go was because of his hair.
again....I know you were here when we went over this. it wasn't even Trumps call;
it was Secret Service and the White House Military Office and the pilot himself.

Motorcades were out because the route could not be secured, and it would leave POTUS too far staged from AF1

serving in military is one thing .I'm talking about seasonal visas "migrant workers" if we are on the same page.
we have tons of unskilled labor -we don't need to add more who come up claiming "asylum"
( as soon as goofball US lawyers tell the to stop saying they are coming for jobs) -when they are here for jobs/security.

But instead of me going over this point by point -since you can't seem to even grasp a wall
is an effective barrier to illegal immigration -how about this? Merit based immigration

-you have skills you get in but if you don't then you don't -and that means cutting out so called
"chain migration" and lotterys and all that junk..you up for that?
the wall is integral to this -but make it a simple premise here.

No, because who defines skills? I think it is pretty skillful to be able to pick crops in the gawd awful heat, I couldn’t do it. I tried it once, I swore never, again. I also couldn’t clean hotel rooms all day, tried it, also and swore never, again, it’s damn hard work and people are disgusting. I also admire seamstresses and childcare orcelderly care providers, again, hard work and often under appreciated by people who don’t do it. So, those people you claim are unskilled have skills you don’t appreciate.

He had his chance, instead he doubled down. He’s dead to me. I’m a bit stubborn.
Well you know Wacko when he's been drinking. He says really stupid shit. You should at least be open to a sincere apology as know Wacko is a decent sort (unless he's been drinking.) :)

it's defined by skill sets.
No i do not 'disappreciate' work of any kind. it's all noble and I completely agree it's very hard.
Maids at Disneyworld have to do 16 rooms a day!

Hello cawacko,

Tariffs are the point of the thread. You and rana don't have a problem with debt, you have a problem with whom the debt is occurring under.

You are entitled to your own view.

You are not entitled to speak for me.

As evidenced by the fact that your perception is incorrect.

I want the debt under control no matter who is in the WH.

But I am learning that a lot of Republicans only seem to care about it if a Dem is in the WH. That one took me a bit by surprise because Republicans expressed so much concern over it during the Obama Presidency. That concern has all but vanished now that they were bought off with permanent tax cuts for the rich, and temporary ones for everybody else. Very foolish, and very selfish.

Good morning Darth,

No doubt, Xi is one of many who were disappointed in Trump’s election lol.

Hillary would have continued with ‘free trade’ as would an establishment republican. Free trade is an admirable principle, but the principle doesn’t serve us when a country is more than willing to take advantage of our principles. The fact is, that’s gone on too long with China.

If China wants free trade—they can make the first move.

Hillary would have supported the TPP and all her big money donors if Bernie had not forced her to abandon that position.

I've always given him credit for the auto bailout and the stimulus unlike certain partisans like yourself
who refuse to give Trump credit for anything -including mfg jobs and GDP.

I give Trump emotional credit for the GDP. The market took off the day after the election, and pretty much rose ever since. Trump didn't have to enact any policy at all. The market was already gaining very well under Obama. It was totally an emotional response, simply the belief that Trump would help the GDP. It's completely intangible.

All Trump initially did was slap his name on the Obama recovery, and the market took off.

The tax cut helped GDP, but since it's on borrowed money it can't last. There's a crash coming, we simply don't know when. Growth would be more sustained if debt was under control. We are on borrowed money and borrowed time.

There are ways to go after China and slapping taxes on American consumers isn't how to do it.

if I recall the ultimate goal is the elimination of tariffs......permitting tariffs on us is taxation of American consumers.........reciprocating Chinese tariffs which have been ignored for forty years is not......it is taxation of China, being used as a weapon.....

Hello Phantasmal,

He had his chance, instead he doubled down. He’s dead to me. I’m a bit stubborn.

Stubborn can be a good thing sometimes. One of the reasons I make it permanent when I place people on Ignore is because that makes it clear I mean what I say. Any acquaintance who is familiar with me then understands that if I warn them to back off or become excommunicated, I am serious. No going back is no going back.
