Your parasite theory is an interesting one, though I have to say it sounds more like an assertion, a guess, absent and lacking in any supporting credible research body of compelling evidence.
I think a more plausible theory is that people are rejecting Trumpism, a blue wave just rolled over the house of representatives, over state legislatures and governorships, and the GOP was only able to barely win or hang onto U.S. senate seats by their fingernails and by small margins is deep red states that traditionally elect republicans.

Or, for the larger question - why do those on the right seem so much more concerned about "voter fraud," for which there is virtually no evidence on any kind of large scale, than they are about voter disenfranchisement & suppression, which we have ample evidence on in every single election?
