The 2018 midterms have come and gone, and Ted Cruz won his hard fought battle against Robert O'Rourke. Why did Cruz struggle so much?? He won by a few percentage points, sure - but that was a close call! Ted Cruz almost lost Texas!

A senator since 2013, in a state that's been reliably red for twenty five year, TEXAS! Ted Cruz nearly lost his senate race in Texas! Was it the blue wave? The fact that his opponent spent double as much? Or maybe illegal immigration?

Whatever the reason, here's the bottom line: The Democrats almost flipped Texas. Texas almost went blue. #TedCruz nearly lost the race! #Texas nearly went to the democrats. That was a tough race, but in the end, Ted Cruz pulled the win out of his hat! Great job!

yep this is sweet......TX is one election away from turning a blueish purple color, and two or three away from joining VA, NC, and FLA as solid Blue states!

the old white GOP racists are finally dying off!

I will have to verify these numbers, but 12 million more Americans voted for a Democrat for U.S. Senate than voted for a Republican, millions more Americans voted for a Democrat for House of Reps than a Republicans, and of course three million more Americans voted for a Democratic presidential candidate in 2016 than the Republican candidate.

I actually can barely remember the last time the Republican Party was favored my a majority of living, breathing American voters. And it is getting fucking hard to explain to my foreign relatives how the Democratic party is consistently preferred by American voters by margins in the millions, but the GOP continues to routinely have a stranglehold on our government (e.g, gerrymandering and voter suppression are hard concepts to explain to a foreigner)

You Democrats are living in a fantasy land. It was close because Cruz is a flawed candidate. Surely the Texas GOP can find a candidate who is a better fit for the Republican party within the next 6 years.

Bro, you live in California. Are you aware two Democrats ran for Senate in the state?
