Is anyone here in disagreement with the Democrat prediction of gaining house seats?

There isn't "no comparison." They use the same exact techniques to manipulate a crowd - the same psychology.

Exactly the same techniques AND dehumanization of non white, non Christians people. There is a striking parallel. You would have to be completely
ignorant of pre-WWII the history not to see it.

Based on polling data I have seen (we all know how accurate they are) there is a good chance the Dems will take the house. But the Repubs will keep the Senate.

If Pubs lose House & take Senate I'll go to sleep, get up, make breakfast, work, make dinner, go to sleep, repeat every day and night...happily.
If Pubs win both the House & Senate ^^^ DITTO^^^
Either way I have no plans to throw bricks, light fires, obstruct traffic or move to Canada.

who cares if you never leave that one bedroom apartment?

seriously?

People make the mistake of thinking that when Hitler is brought up, it's some kind of complete comparison - that people are saying Trump is exactly like Hitler, in every way.

The valid comparison is in the rhetoric & manipulation. Same textbook.

That is how it is brought up. That is the whole intent. Add to that the fact that there are way too many dumb ass Americans now and they do not know the difference. When Trump starts burning books let me know.

LOL!!!
rhetoric: the art of effective or persuasive speaking or writing, especially the use of figures of speech and other compositional techniques; language designed to have a persuasive or impressive effect on its audience, but often regarded as lacking in sincerity or meaningful content.
^^^Describes every politician and/or motivational speaker. It can be positive OR negative, agreeable or disagreeable. In the end it is speech.

manipulation: the action of manipulating something in a skillful manner; also the action of manipulating someone in a clever or unscrupulous way.

People are free (in the U.S. at least) to agree or disagree without the fear of being gassed or thrown into an oven for speaking or arguing their ideas or beliefs with anyone willing to listen. People can however still destroy private property, throw barricades through windows, ban people from their presence and hurl vulgarities and spit on them in public places because they disagree with their speech.

I'm familiar with Godwin's Law.
But it seems to me that's an application of pretending to a disparaging moral equivalency.

"Hitler" is a name synonymous with deliberate evil. I don't think it's automatically inappropriate to define a spectrum, Mother Theresa to Hitler for example.

In my opinion it's not an automatic forfeit unless it's obviously false or unreasonable or irrational: President Trump is worse than Hitler because he doesn't buy everybody a Lamborghini!

ref:
Godwin's Law:
A term that originated on Usenet, Godwin's Law states that as an online argument grows longer and more heated, it becomes increasingly likely that somebody will bring up Adolf Hitler or the Nazis. When such an event occurs, the person guilty of invoking Godwin's Law has effectively forfeited the argument.

And the focus on dehumanizing the weak and pretending they are a threat and parlaying strife into power.
Germany it was unprecedented poverty, so he blamed communists and Jews. Here it was unemployment of the
working class white male, so Trump blamed media, government, blacks and Latinos.

He will never burn books because he will never know what's in them.

But...

"... he has made it very clear that he doesn’t stand for the freedom of the press. As a presidential candidate, Trump told supporters he would “open up our libel laws” to sue journalists. “We’re going to have people sue you like you’ve never got sued before,” he promised.

Trump the candidate also blacklisted reporters and entire news outlets from campaign events, referred to journalists as “scum” and “slime,” and mocked a reporter for having a disability. He vowed to sue women who reported incidents of sexual harassment and assault, along with the outlets that covered their accounts, and threatened a lawsuit against a Hispanic journalist group for calling out his bigoted remarks.

ADD YOUR NAME"I would never kill them but I do hate them,” he said of reporters. “And some of them are such lying, disgusting people.”

This onslaught didn’t stop once Trump assumed the presidency. From the most powerful perch on the planet, he has continued to wage attacks on the free press, further revealing his authoritarian impulses and disdain for the First Amendment.

Below we provide a running list of attacks that the president has made on the press since assuming office. We’ll keep this list updated since, unfortunately, we don’t expect them to stop.

Trump has:

Praised a violent attack on a reporter by Montana Rep. Greg Gianforte.

Presided over a Justice Department investigation in which years' worth of email and phone records belonging to a New York Times reporter were seized in connection with a leak investigation.

Threatened to change libel laws to make it easier to sue publishers and news organizations following the release of an unflattering book.

Threatened legal action against a journalist and publisher over a book that includes critical statements about him.

Demanded the Washington Post fire a reporter over an inaccurate tweet about the crowd size at a Trump rally, which the reporter apologized for and deleted.

Urged people to sue ABC News over a retracted report, which Trump claimed caused the stock market to fall and investors to lose money.

On the day that Russia enacted restrictions on foreign news outlets, tweeted: “CNN International is still a major source of (Fake) news, and they represent our Nation to the WORLD very poorly. The outside world does not see the truth from them!” He then called for a contest between CNN and other outlets, apart from Fox, to see which has “the most dishonest, corrupt and/or distorted in its political coverage of your favorite President (me).”

Said it is “frankly disgusting the way the press is able to write whatever they want to write” in a meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Threatened to cancel the broadcast licenses of media companies that offer negative coverage of him."

Trump is an angel compared to what the previous administration did to journalists. Was not that long ago.

And that's worse than what Republican administrations do?

Have you forgotten the kerfuffle the Bush (younger) administration got into with the FISA court?
Have you forgotten the meta-data controversy?

I can't deny the simple appeal of a non-Machiavellian world. Don't hold your breath.

I have not forgotten any of them. Trump is a cake walk compared to the rest. One would not think so though with all the melodrama and incorrect innuendos from the left.
