Ever heard of a heritage test? DNA tests do not test for heritage. A DNA test can be used to determine one's race, but not heritage. When Pocahontas took her DNA test, it did not prove that she had any claim to Native American Heritage.

Provided a couple times her family history showing how Indian heritage was a big part of her life and family lore. The DNA tests proved she had the right to such a heritage There is Indian blood in her background exactly like she said. She has been proven right and Evmerto proven both wrong and a conpiracy nut who keeps making up shit over and over. Wonder what straw he will grasp tomorrow?

A genealogical DNA test is a DNA-based test which looks at specific locations of a person's genome in order to determine ancestral ethnicity and genealogical relationships. Results give information about ethnic groups the test subject may be descended from and about other individuals that they may be related to.
Heritage can overlap on the ethnicity and nationality a bit at times, but it generally refers to the ancestors of a person, and what they identified with. For example, a child born to naturalized U.S. citizens hailing from Venezuela could say they have a Venezuelan heritage, even if they don’t share the ethnicity (perhaps they can’t speak Spanish), and they are American as far as nationality.
I am ever amazed actually, at how often rightwing posters with no scientific training or qualifications nonetheless present themselves as armchair experts on DNA, genetics, climate science, and evolution...to name but a few disciplines.
The weird thing is, you just know these rightwingers knew almost nothing about DNA testing a month ago -- but because they read some b.s. on a rightwing blog, they are quick to leap into action and present their knowledge and opinions as credible and reliable.
Me? I don't know jack shit about DNA testing, and will trust that the trained and highly credible experts who did Elizabeth Warren's test knew exactly what they were doing.
