Cliche ridden aren't you. The reason cities have problems is the workers are not paid a living wage. The huge profits workers generate are confiscated by the execs and stockholders. Many cities grew to support factories and indutries. The owners moved abroad for cheap unprotected labor and no environmentl regulation. the jobs were gone.
