I prefer my M1 Garand or M1-A myself. The .30-06 and .308 are far superior and harder hitting rounds.
Oh, and I have an original 1911, 4 digit ser. no.

There are plenty of bolt action rifles that shoot .30-06, .308, or for that matter, .460 Weatherby Magnum if you like pop.

Civilians don't need military weapons....and shouldn't have them.

Those are good choices but the ar15 will work also. My choice for a self-defense rifle is a 44 mag rossi lever action.

I bought them from the Army to shoot military rifle competitions.
As for bolt actions, 2 of my (numerous) hunting rifles are a Remmington 700 .30.06 (one of my deer rifles) and a pre 64 Winchester mod. 70 .220 Swift (varmint rifle), both with trued bolts and adjustable triggers. The reloads I use are extremely accurate.
As for the Garand and M1-A, the Army supplies my ammo :smile:

I'm not concerned with sportsmen.

Sporting arms are the same as golf clubs and bowling balls.

I have a Ruger Super Blackhawk and a Ruger M44 carbine in the same caliber.

Yes, the carbine is an auto-loader, but I bought that as a teenager in 1965 before the world went batshit crazy.
Also, it's tubular feed, not a fast changing, high capacity clip.

I had to be an adult over 21 to buy the Super Blackhawk.

Progressive liberals own guns too. Everybody doesn't realize that.
