They are paid to arrest people they suspect of violating the law. Those people can have their day in court like anybody else accused of breaking the law. The democrats could have changed these laws if they really had wanted to. This is not a new issue. Rather than actually spend time and energy on this issue, they have relied on executive fiat and activist judges to do the heavy lifting because in the end, the left does not want a solution. They want a issue they can try to use to force Hispanics to vote for their faction of Wall Street oligarchs by perpetually holding their freedom over their heads.

Hell one of my earliest political memories was watching a CBS news spot as a child about how these border communities were being taken over by criminals, drug cartels and the like on our side of the border. I am far from being a child now and not a thing has improved. It is only getting worse. I don't expect to see any law enforcement agency do its jobs flawlessly 24/7. Mistakes happen. That is what the courts stand there behind them as a check are for. They have a herculean task before them. Without ICE, Texas would be worse than the Gaza, so if I had to choose between having an imperfect enforcement arm and having the no enforcement authority as you are advocating for, I choose to side with both law and order over chaos and criminality. You do not. so be it. you are not the first nor the last anarchist I will encounter in life. Fortunately, civilized and educated people will always reject the likes of you.

In our corporate for profit prison/industrial complex that leads the planet in incarceration, in a post-industrial society without enough living wage jobs to go around; a system that "legally" enslaves leased "convict" labor to corporations.
 
There are still 500 kids who have not been kidnapped from their parents and not re-united. Some may never be since their parents have been deported.
