Let’s be clear. Manafort’s alleged crimes aren’t a fraud. They may very well be real.

The issue is that these people so believe that Trump conspired with Putin, they believe Manafort knows something. So Mueller is using this trial to try to squeeze Manafort into giving up the goods on Trump

The thing is that there are no goods to give up.

Even if they convict Manafort, it will be a big dud. This wasn’t about getting Manafort. It was about getting Trump.

They have nothing.

He needs to be impeached and then committed to a mental asylum; not prison, not executed...he needs to be put in a mental institution so that everything he has said, everything his followers believe, can be finally discredited as the rantings of a crazy person.

That's one POV. Another is that they had the strongest year they have ever had when it comes to candidate recruitment, are leading in the polls for the midterms and have some very charismatic up & comers who are starting to make a name for themselves.

All the talk of Biden, Bernie & Clinton again in '20 is purely wishful thinking by the right. None of those 3 will be the candidate. The Dems have some great young leaders on their side. On the GOP side, we're seeing near-record retirements, and Trump's cult of personality is sucking up all of the air in the room, preventing any new leaders from emerging.

Let's be clear; Manafort's ALLEGED crimes could be real, but right now based on the trial happenings, the case is more than merely weak. The Judge in that case is kicking the prosecutions ass on their efforts to paint Manafort as an uber rich meanie instead of making their case.

If there is no case, Mueller's entire existence becomes meaningless because everything hinged on this case and this case alone.

It looked that way until Comey's letter, which I correctly pointed out reversed the trend and changed the dynamics. She would have won handily without that consuming the last week of the campaign.

Speculative BS in my opinion. The Comey letter had NOTHING to do with it. She was an awful candidate and Americans did not want a continuation of Obamunism. They actually like the thought of making America Great Again, defending our borders and creating more high paying jobs.
