On this Independence Day, naturalization ceremonies will turn 14,000 immigrants into proud new American citizens.

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services will welcome them in about 175 ceremonies across the country on the Fourth of July, according to the American Immigration Council.

Despite the Trump administration’s controversial travel ban and rhetoric regarding immigrants, a total of 163,000 people have been naturalized during fiscal year 2018 — a 55 percent increase from the same time last year.

At a naturalization ceremony in New Hampshire, 102 people hailing from 48 different countries became citizens before an audience that included the state’s two senators, Jeanne Shaheen and Maggie Hassan, and Gov. Chris Sununu.

In New York, Karina Borbon, who arrived in the U.S. from the Dominican Republic ten years ago, explained how it felt to realize her dream.

“I am so excited…It was a long journey but finally, I did it,” Borbon, 32, told the New York Daily News. “Now I have become a part of the nation. I want to help my community and help the people become citizens, too.”

get it? follow the process and you get in -and then you can get full citizenship.

Not illegal crossings, not mass migrations, not bogus asylum...

Build the wall. tighten up the laws for immediate deportation,
and let those who love the country and follow the law become Americans or legal residents.

What they really mean to write:

"Despite the Democrat's and their media minions have said about Trump's immigration policies..."

Welcome to the USA, new citizens! Most of us are happy you are joining us. You'll figure out soon enough that most of us are not like Trump, his friends those swastika- and Confederate-flag waving morons, and the crazies you'll see on our cable news. Hopefully you'll quickly settle in and gain non-throttled Internet access to real news outlets that show us as we are.

You came here because you want to be free to work hard, worship as you like, raise your kids, remember your heritage and honor it and speak your native language while learning our mess we call English. Your spirit, your genes, your ideas, your knowledge, your energy are the Sun that enriches this country. Two of my bestest friends came here from other lands that I'll probably never see. Both are now American citizens as well. It took them years. Thankfully they were Caucasian, Christian, had money, and married to an American-by-birth citizen.

In parting, please pay no attention to that loud and bloviating thing we currently are forced to call our president. He doesn't represent most of us, only the most foul and deplorable among us. You probably came from lands with almost as foul... so you'll already know how to deal.

Welcome!

Here's an exchange from the link:

"BANNON: Where are we in the Trump campaign with the H-1B visas? Because we got the oligarchs down there, man, and they have got Karl Rove and literally hundreds of millions of dollars, and they are coming with one reason. And they are coming for unlimited ability to go throughout the world and have people come here and compete with kids coming out of engineering schools and IT jobs. If you are in your 40s and 50s right now, people will tell you, they haven’t had a raise in decades in IT. What was supposed to be a great career turned out not to be a great career. It’s because of these visas."
