Marriage is intended as a union of man and woman before God, and nothing else. No sooner could a man marry another man than he could marry his house, and a woman could no sooner marry another woman that she could marry her dog, because she loves it so much. It is the union of two opposite but complimentary elemements to make one whole. In this way gay marriage trivializes the union, "ruining" it for heterosexual couples. And yes, frivolous marriage by other heterosexual couples trivializes it, too.

Not only this, but homosexuality is a sin that disgusts God. Marriage does not reconcile it. The gay community perverts love, making it about sex, saying "I can love anyone I want to!" True, Jesus calls us to love everyone, but not to have sex with anyone. Sex is intended for the marriage of two souls and for making children.

Of course, this is from a theological standpoint. I don't think the church should ever allow gay marriage. However, I don't think the government should have any hand in marriage at all, especially in a country that states freedom of religion as a fundamental right.

While the answer by Jesus was on a question related to divorce, he was specific about marriage being between male and female. No reference to a man leaving his father/mother and joining his husband or a wife joining her wife.

God, with places like Sodom and Gomorrah, actually did what Leviticus said. Perhaps you didn't see the punishment indicated at the end of the 1 Corinthian verses. What man could do doesn't come close to the punishment of being eternally separated from God for your choice to be a fag.

True, the wages of sin is death as in sure you've heard, and the law shall not pass away. In the very next passage, Jesus reminds us that those who even get angry at their brother deserve the fires of hell because wrath in the heart is equivalent to murder in action.

But Jesus calls us to forgiveness, in that should we break the law there is grace for us for repentance. Not to continue on sinning, but to strive to please God in the law. He also tells us these things to remind us that we deserve death and punishment for what we do every day, but He so loved the world that He would come and die for us.

Mock my God as a sky fairy as you will, but if you want marriage to be a legal contract keep it that way. Don't use the force of the state to also force churches and individuals with the same convictions as me to celebrate such a union.

Anyone that has use PUBLIC entities to push for something they claim is a private matter. Anyone that uses terms like bigot, hater, homophobe, etc. toward those of us that believe it is wrong. Anyone expected to bake a cake for a homosexual couple despite his/her beliefs that homosexuality is wrong.

On a personal level, I have a cousin that is homosexual. The first time he showed up to my house, uninvited by the way, to a family function after his choice to be homosexual was made known, he and his fag whatever were told to leave and that they weren't welcome at MY house. When he refused and his whatever you call it got in my face, they were both less than kindly made to leave. The fact that he showed up, uninvited by the way, assuming he could come then refusing to leave MY property when asked to do so is demanding my acceptance. We won't get into the statements he made toward me, my wife, and my children when told to leave and why he was being told to leave.

The use of the term "gay rights" is demanding acceptance.
