"Tillerson warns of ethical crisis among U.S. leaders in speech"

The Repugs gave the keys to the country to an unethical, childish, thief and liar. They would do it again.Trump is gutting our agencies and attacking the other branches of government. The FBI is under siege by Trump and many in America believe it. If he gets 4 years, we may not be able to fix his mess.

and yet today, as in November, 2016, our votes mean more than yours......

Everything you said, Nordberg, and...

...it already is going to be VERY DIFFICULT to fix what this abomination has done to our nation and its institutions.

The people who have enabled him...those in public office and those citizens who still back him...should hang their collective heads in abject shame at having helped him.

its proving hard enough for you to prove that there was an abomination....

But Tillerson said:
“If we do not confront the crisis of ethics and integrity in our society and among our leaders then American democracy, as we know it, is entering its twilight years.”

In other words, things may have been far from ideal, but now there's a crisis and it may mean the end of American democracy. Why do you think he said that?

demmycrat obstructionism.....

Yeah...like Abraham Lincoln...or Colin Powell...or Frances Perkins.

Jesus H. Christ, Aloy...who do you think Tillerson was aiming those remarks at? Make a wild guess.

This Colin Powell ?

"I found much that was alarming about being a citizen during the tenures of Richard Nixon and George W. Bush. But, whatever I may have seen as their limitations of character or intellect, neither was anything like as humanly impoverished as Trump is: ignorant of government, of history, of science, of philosophy, of art, incapable of expressing or recognizing subtlety or nuance, destitute of all decency, and wielding a vocabulary of seventy-seven words that is better called Jerkish than English.” Philip Roth

"Big Business, in America, is almost whole devoid of anything even poetically describable as public spirit. It is frankly on the make, day in and day out, and hence for the sort of politician who gives it the best chance. In order to get that chance it is willing to make any conceivable sacrifice of common sense and the common decencies. Big Business was in favor of Prohibition, believing that a sober workman would make a better slave than the one with a few drinks in him. It was in favor of gross robberies and extortions that went on during the war, and profited by all of them. It was in favor of the crude throttling of free speech that was then undertaken in the name of patriotism, and is still in favor of it." H.L. Mencken

"The supreme mystery of despotism, its prop and stay, is to keep men in a state of deception, and with the specious title of religion to cloak the fear by which they must be held in check, so that they will fight for their servitude as if for salvation." Baruch Spinoza

"There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn't true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true." Soren Kierkegaard
