Since I get the pleasure of being called a racist quite a bit I'll keep it real here. Many upper middle class/rich largely white areas have excellent public schools. So it makes sense people in those areas are ok with the educational status quo. That's white privilege right? So easy to sit back and say "we should spend more money on teachers and schools" as a positive virtue signal but for many the results never change. But it doesn't affect the well to do whites because it's not their kids. Charter schools, as one example, have done an amazing job in some cities. But teacher unions fight them tooth and nail and many well to do whites do as well because again, they can afford to move if they live in a bad school district.
