Many hunters use AR15's

I'm curious as to where you get this idea.

Living in a large deer hunting area, neighbors that hunt, and the basic understanding of what hunting is. Hunting is considered a sport, but it's also for meat, and obtaining a trophy. You get none of that with an AR-15.

I keep hearing this talking point...AR15s aren't good for hunting. This talking point is patently false. It is advanced by people who know nothing about guns or hunting. AR15s are accurate, in a hunting caliber, easy to work on, and simple to customize. They will eventually supplant the bolt action rifle in the same way the bolt action rifle supplanted the lever action rifle and the lever action rifle supplanted the single shot.

Actually, you're falling right into their trap. The Second Amendment has nothing to do with hunting. So whether a particular gun is used for hunting, or not, is a moot point.

Again, I am curious as to where you're getting this idea. What do you think an AR or other semi auto rifle does differently?

Not when you do it with an Ar. Spray an animal with bullets and call yourself a hunter and sportsman. . I was a marksman. Some of the bullets hit the deer.

Wow, you really are as stupid as everyone says. I wouldn't have thought that physically possible.

Then why would you predicate such conditions upon an AR and not guns in general?

I didn't mention any particular gun. I was referring to the actual skill of hunting which damn near no longer exists because our guns literally do all the work. A novice can pick up a gun with a scope on it and fell a deer if they have a steady aim. No need to even get near it. That's not hunting in the traditional sense. That's target shooting.

Yes, such a lament for us as a people, that we no longer go out in naught but a single leaf to cover our shame and use our bare hands to bludgeon an animal to death, feasting upon it's raw flesh as is right and proper.

I too mourn the loss of the telegraph, and the power of the cotton sail to traverse the globe.

How is it that you don't get the meat using an AR 15?

An AR 15 uses the same calibers as deer hunting rifles.

You can get AR 15's in many different calibers.

Thank you. Finally. This is the point of truth From which to argue.

When a "hunter" can look through a scope and never even get close to their prey, can shoot from the front seat of a car, chooses game such as giraffes or elephants which do not provide meat, then it's not hunting. It's sport for fun.

I am absolutely opposed to safari type hunting but the bolded above is simply not true.
