Simply untrue, for the reasons already stated.
The former KKK Democrats merely hid themselves within the Democrat party, think Robert Byrd.

C'mon, Right.
Take a look at the presidential election history of states like Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina...
...and note that they were solid for Democrats right along...until the race in 1964...the year LBJ signed the Civil Rights Act.
From that point on, except in a few cases where southern Democratic candidates were on the ballot (Carter and Clinton) the southern states became devotedly Republican.
But for you...that is just a coincidence.
Okay...I enjoy the laugh.
And in '76 they changed back?
NO they didn't. As I said in my post, they did vote for Jimmie Carter...a southern candidate. And I think a couple voted for Bill Clinton...another southern candidate.
But since then...straight Republican.
As Craft pointed out...the bigots, the racists, were in the Democratic Party for a long while.
Then LBJ signed the Civil Rights Act...and they ran over to the Republican Party...where they now know their racist tendencies will receive the most favorable treatment.
It was not an accident that the south turned Republican in 1964!

stop it stop it, you havn't said anything, you spout non-sense, don't expect people to argue with non-sense, or qualify it with debateI am not attacking "the messenger", Right.
I am asking you to quote anything I've said that you disagree with...and telling me why you disagree so we can discuss it.
You, in the meantime, have called me a racist; accused me of "following the Democratic Party line"...and stuff like that.
Perhaps we both get a bit antagonistic at moments...but that is to be expected in contentious debate.
So...quote what I have said that you disagree with...and tell me why you disagree. We can discuss it like civilized adults.
More dumb fucks whining about not being able to do anything right, even when they have all the control, by blaming those that can't do much of anything about it. Will these denizens of Bizzaro World ever pull their heads out of their asses, and join the rest of humanity? Or should we just plop in a lounge chair, and pray their ignorance undoes them before it does the rest?

Wrong. The Democratic party voted against civil rights- Republicans have always led on civil rights, not to be confused with special rights (aka vote pandering).
Wake up.
In the Senate, southern Democrats did vote almost unanimously against the Civil Rights Act (20 of 21 with only Ralph Yarborough of Texas voted for it.) The only southern senator, Tower of Texas, voted against it. Northern Democrats voted 45-1 FOR it...only Byrd of West Virginia voted against.
In the House, 7 southern Democrats voted FOR it...and 87 against. Northern legislators voted 145–9 Democrats and 138-24 Republicans.
The vast preponderance of votes against the legislation came from bigots and racists in the south. Those bigots and racists immediately jumped ship from the Democratic Party and went over to the Republican Party...where they found a very welcome home.
again, you are reduced to claiming that the racists from the Democratic Party who voted against the Civil Rights Act immediately jumped up and joined the party that passed the bill they fought against......if they were actually stupid enough to do that you might be right.......they might be demmycrats......
I am an Independent...and I argue whatever is being argued.

They may have been stupid...but they WERE racists...and that is exactly what they did.
well no....that is what you would like to believe they did......but the idiots and the racists are still demmycrats..........the ones that joined the Republican Party in 68 were the ones that couldn't stand your racist ass........the ones that joined the Republican Party in 76 were the fiscal conservatives that couldn't stand Carter......
He once said it’s the President’s fault if there is a shut down.
He said Tuesday he’d sign anything they brought him, they brought him a bill, he rejected it.
Yup...the guy has the demeanor of a three year-old with a very limited supply of Ritalin.
His tongue is hinged in the middle and swings both ways.
