Schumer Shutdown.....

If you are referring to the Trump shutdown...I doubt the Democrats CAN stop it. He's got 3 more years to further foul our nation.

I'm not a Democrat, so I probably should not even be answering this, but...I don't think they are. I think they are doing what they consider to be morally right...and although I am not one of them, I agree with them.

In any case, to suppose one must do one or the other...is self-serving. Not the way life works.

People are so stupid, if the believe the government will shut down.. The government never shuts down. All essential services continue to function, oh you may not be able to go to a national park because it's closed but essential services such as TSA, customs, ICE, FBI, CDC etc. continue.

Which is more important funding the government or working on DACA? Put another way ( A house and a shed are on fire you can only put out one fire at a time which do you put out first?). Congress has until March to work on DACA. Fund the government then worry about DACA.

The Democrats aren't doing themselves any good,putting DACA before citizens.

It could easily have been done all at the same time, Eagle, which the congressional leadership of both the Republicans and Democrats wanted to do. Donald Trump told them to get together and figure out a bill that they could both live with...AND HE WOULD SIGN IT.

They did...they got together and put a proposal together and took it to him. But the nutcases on the far right had gotten to him first. So even though they had a proposal that could easily have passed on a bi-partisan vote...

...Trump said "NO."

Trump owns this mess...and the mess is not a choice between "funding the government" and "working on DACA." The "mess" is that the Republican Party in the best of times doesn't know how to govern...and these are not "the best of times" for the GOP!

as I recall, Trump had told them it would be a no before they even started talking......no wall, no security = no DACA.......the only nutcases were Schumer and Gra-hey-am....

You are completely wrong. Trump and GOP has said they want DACA and are willing to give it. But dems still refuse to compromise. They want to make this a 2018 campaign issue. They feel like a compromise will only help Trump.

So what did Schumer and the dems to instead? Kick and scream and introduce joke bills, until they shut the govt down. Its completely pathetic.

The bill died in the Senate via filibuster. Trump never had the opportunity to sign it. Please try to get your facts straight. This is Schumer's shutdown.

And why? If the govt shuts down, we ought to shut all of them down. No flying, No tsa, no FBI. That will make the american people IRATE and maybe the morons in washington will do their jobs.

Trump told them he would sign WHATEVER THEY PUT TOGETHER. He said he would sign anything that the two parties could work out. But, then he caved.

He has no spine.

My guess: He will get the majority of the blame for this shut down.
