By making the rules so that an employee working more than 34 hours would have to compensated with health care, they did in fact create the situation where 34 hours is the cut off. Not really hard to understand unless you choose to not

You are not wrong at all here. (On a side note, and this is not personal against Rana because many think this way, they like the stock market going up but dislike the companies that make it rise and what they do).
To me they are making more of an emotional based argument rather than thinking through all the logical steps involved.
Not everyone is at the same point in their working career and not everyone has the same skill set.
And throw in different industries have different margarins on their per employee profit they aren't apples to apples.
Not have we even begun to bring in the role of automation.
It's easy to sit back and say you make a lot of money so pay more. It's a great applause line and people feel good about themselves. But there's more to it than just that

Sure, the ones that make enough per employee to afford the healthcare costs. But what about the companies like walmart that employ lots of people, but make relatively small return on each compared to other industries. Retail supermarkets operate on volume and small margins. It's not same as a company that makes large margins on their employee productivity.
TL;DR? Not every business makes the same amount of profit per invested dollar.
Please get a grip. I'm fully aware of how the gubment defines a living wage. The discussion is about people who deal with it, make the best of it, live within their means and get along on less than $20k/yr.
Whyyyyyyyy are you even arguing and making a fuss? If you make more and have a "better" lifestyle, then enjoy yourself and keep doing what you're doing. I don't begrudge ANYone a life filled with "finer" things.
For those of us able to make it on $15k/yr. leave us alone and quit badgering us. A lot us have actually CHOSEN to not ever dine out or get take-out, or buy more than one good pair of shoes per year, buy extra jewelry, purses, handbags, bother with hair salons, go to movies or take vacations. We live happily within our means, living peacefully with our neighbors and enjoy a simplified life.
