President Trump, first lady light National Christmas Tree

President Donald Trump and his family officially kicked off the holiday season in the nation’s capital by lighting the national Christmas tree on Thursday.

The annual event — now in its 95th year — took place on the White House Ellipse, but if you weren’t aware it was happening, don’t feel bad.

Hardly anyone seemed to know, as evidenced by the attendance at the ceremony.

ABC7’s Steve Rudin, who was covering the event, noted that it was “beautiful,” but attendance seemed to be far below what was expected.

“The National Tree Lighting ceremony was beautiful this evening – but hard not to notice the empty seats,” Rudin tweeted alongside a photo of the event.

And he says he wants to bring Christmas back. What a dumbass. These days Christmas starts on Thanksgiving. It never disappeared, it took over. Considering it's not the only holiday being celebrated, why the heck shouldn't greeters say holidays? It's not like they can site all the holidays in one quick greeting.

See that?

YOURS is the rational response to the question "why do people say happy holidays"?

Unfortunately, ignorant Trumpkins and conservatives in general are very thin-skinnned and can't STAND that Christmas must "compete" with the other holidays, so they invented the "war on Christmas" so they could whine about how persecuted they are, while simultaneously blaming Liberals for the entire insidious plot.

What other holidays are being celebrated on the 25th of December?

This is right up there with ketchup on his steak, and two scoops of ice cream. Speaking of ice cream, I bet you people complain when your's is too cold. Jeez.

The big issue with Christmas is it's original purpose has been jaded. The real thing that matters is people coming together to share, and celebrate. Even if it's not in the name of Christ, they still get it half right that way. Whining about Happy holidays is preposterous really. It's essentially complaining about someones message of goodwill, because of stuck up grievances. Hasn't anyone heard of not looking a gift horse in the mouth? Christmas is a holiday after all. Making this an issue, and acting bitterly over trivial details, shames what Christmas is supposed to be. If you demand goodwill sayings cater to you, you don't need them period.
