Sentencing is usually done after looking at the defendant's circumstances..

I can't recall the exact court function. But the judge usually wants a pre-sentencing report.

Bits are coming out... In Court they are discussing that Flynn was directed to have the discussion with the Russians by someone in the Administration.

The judge would order a Pre-Sentencing Investigation, but would take the Prosecutors recommendation and set a sentencing date for the formal sentence. We will see if that happens.
 
Flynn denies treason, but recognized that what he plead guilty to was wrong and his guilty plea to was "in the best interest of his family."
