Why is Trump lying about the tax plan?

He did it again in Missouri - he keeps saying that it's going to hurt him, and says his wealthy friends "aren't happy" with him because it's going to hit them so hard.

This is just factually not true. At least when Bush did his tax cut, he was straight-up about it - kept saying that if you pay taxes, you were getting a cut. Why can't Trump stand by what he's doing? I actually have no problem with cuts across the board in general, though I think Trump's plan is heavily skewed toward the wealthy. I think most Americans get that any tax cut will benefit the rich in some way.

It's just easy to disprove. This plan benefits Trump, and his wealthy friends, in a big way. It's basic math. Why does he lie about this kind of thing?

Why does he lie about everything?

Well, that's just it. Something like this, that is basically like saying "2+2 = 10...believe me!" really exposes the pathology.

There is NO reason for him to tell a blatant, easily disprovable lie like this - but he really can't help himself. This is a guy who would RATHER lie than tell the truth. He's more comfortable lying.

To distort the truth, if the facts are against you just make up your own facts, Fox has been doing it for decades, they present balance as truth ignoring the fact that having a contrary view doesn't automatically mean that view is accurate.

The President is just carrying it to another extreme, the kool aid drinkers eat it up, if they don't like reality he presents another, it's validity isn't relative

I don't even think this is a case where he thinks the facts are against him. Every other Republican is arguing that the rich are getting cuts, but that this will benefit investment and employment. They're arguing the plan on its merits.

I think Trump just likes lying. He has literally no reason to in this case; I disagree w/ trickle-down, but that's the plan & the GOP in general is making no bones about that. I think Trump just lies for the sake of it.

because idiots will believe those lies

look arround

Why aren't the dems playing just as dirty as the right?

There has to be a way to stop this plan from passing.

Why are americans letting this happen?

I'd disagree, his lying is orchestrated, you may be right on the tax plan presentation, but it matters little to him, he is going to offer a lie or a distorted fact anytime he can, it sets the model that just continues to wear away that which is true so that everything is distorted, some will have a hard time distinguishing one from the other

All by design, reality TV

Imagine that.... someone accusing a politician of lying. What's the world coming to? Its not like we just went through 8 years of demonrat lies. Looks like the left would be used to having a dose of their own medicine. As they say, "anything to get a win....." Laughable. Demonrats crying about someone else lying. Pure unadulterated entertainment. :lies:

Like any big Washington plan, Americans won't know now it effects them till it happens, even Obamacare, in the beginning it was presented as a disaster, but now we see how a large segment of America doesn't want to shelve it as evident by the GOP's failure to repeal and replace it.

It will pass, will be a sugar high, but beginning in 2018 and definitely by 2020, the effects will be felt, although then there will be a dozen "considerations" to scapegoat its' failure

That’s what he does best. Lie.

Whataboutism.

Nothing wrong with the status quo. Lying has been established as precedent by the demonrats for the past 100 years. Do you have any actual news to talk about? Like John McCain and Rand Paul saying "yes" to end the Obama Care mandate. Taxes are actually unimportant as Big Brother takes in close to 7 trillion a year.....a reduction of a few Billion will not toss the baby out with the bathwater. The Obama Care Mandate is the most important part of the new law....as its rescinded without one demonrat vote.

You got to be kidding, or you are really drunk on the kool aid

No President probably in the history of the country comes even close to the number of flat out lies this President has said in his first year alone, last count it was approaching close to 2,000 documented lies and fabrications, like five and a half averaged a day. Not what the Foundimg Fathers envisioned when the created an independent Executive Branch

Your deflection to Obama isn't even in the same ballpark

Care to provide examples? What portions do you think will benefit the wealthy friends?

Funny, conservatives are now telling us having a President recognized as a flat out liar is alright, beautiful

SF - you can't be serious.

I assume you have looked at the basics of the proposal. Do the wealthy get a tax cut, or not? Yes or no.

I'll answer: yes. The estate tax change alone is a huge giveaway, but the top 1% also get 20% of the basic cuts.

The middle class gets a cut, too. This isn't my issue. I'm not saying it's "just for the rich." I just don't know why Trump has to lie about that aspect of it.

The man is so used to being able to say whatever he wants, he thinks he can use the same strategy as president. His idea of power structures is one where the boss has the final say and you better believe what he says.

It's ridiculous, but that's how he's operated his whole life. Leopard...spots
