Destroying implies something is done with malice and possibly without justification/cause. If Lauer didn't do what it's claimed he did, he can sue. If he did and was fired because of it, NBC didn't destroy his life. If it's destroyed, Lauer destroyed it himself.

The only fact that is known is those that decided to fire Lauer believed the information presented to them after having reviewed it. As I said, if they are wrong, Lauer can sue. If they are correct, they didn't destroy his life, he did.
