The surreal hypocrisy of Trump & his supporters

LOL

Can't answer the question?

I asked you a question, sycophant. "Who made "Pocohantas" and heritage an issue this week, anatta?"
the NEWS.. It was a passing comment. If it had been reported as such, then OK it would be initiated by Trump.

But this racist shit..that's faux news outrage at work. It's what gives it legs.

None of which is news, despite the fact it recirculates on your news feed.

Calm down. Put things in perspective. it was a passing comment days ago.

Go study up. Put your time to better use, then being sucked into faux outrage

the NEWS..

Wow - what TOTAL denial. It was the damned fake news' fault!!!

You're way gone, anatta. Trump made it an issue, just like he made the NFL an issue. He turned a ceremony for heroes into the "Pocohantas" thing, and then his spokesperson said that the media should be covering questions about Warren's heritage "constantly," and then every supporter and surrogate out there started turning the week into "Warren lied about her ancestry."

What incredible denial on your part. The news had nothing to do w/ it. You just can't face that it's YOUR hero that is hysterical, and the one trotting out old issues for whatever political gain he can get. This time, it's backfiring, because - as is stated in the OP - he lied about his own family.

curious what the spokesperson said.
curious about the question that brought it up.

I frequently do not disclose my heritage. German and Polish. I get all kinds of jokes ( will you invade yourself?)
Or the clown who has to tell me the Polish joke about changing a lightbulb.
Am I a liar?

I use a misspelling on my name on FB - is that "lying" or is it to give me a little bit of protection from searches?

I won't give my last name out on sales calls -i give my representative number..is that a lie of omission?

Trump had what he though was a valid reason for "being Swedish".. who cares?

I agree with you though - if the spokesperson gave that answer -she is just as culpable of keeping a nothing story alive.

But the lesson here is don't get sucked in. It's DC NOISE.

If that crowd wants to live their lives like a tempest in a teacup....put your time to better use..
all of a sudden when you get older you realize there was much you didn't look at. Look at it now

Re: the bolded. Normally, I do not care, at all.

But I assume you can see the relevance if Trump has spent a fair amount of time making hay about Warren "lying" about her heritage, when he has done the exact same thing....right?

but did Trump defraud?
Again i have only passing knowledge of this NOISE. But it appears Warren used her claims to defraud-
to make a gain into a restricted category of Native American..do i got that right?

Trump's lie was typical salesman schmooze. his gain wasn't at other's expense

No - that's a GOP talking point. If you know so little about this, why are you even commenting on this thread?

Stop making excuses for Trump. He lied about his heritage, in a book & for gain, and he continually makes a big deal out of the same for Warren (when there is no proof that she even lied).

what?
so she did NOT claim indian heritage? where she had absolutely no proof?

https://www.usnews.com/news/the-run/articles/2017-11-28/elizabeth-warrens-pocahontas-pickle
a report during her first campaign that Warren listed herself as Native American at Harvard Law School, raising questions of whether she claimed minority status in order to gain an advantage in attaining an Ivy League professorship. A Fordham Law Review piece later described her as Harvard Law School's "first woman of color."

Slow to respond and lacking any tangible proof of her heritage, Warren relied on anecdotal stories within her family, noting her grandfather's "high cheekbones."

The New England Historical Genealogical Society, which originally said there was evidence Warren was 1/32 American Indian, later recanted the claim.

"We have no proof that Elizabeth Warren's great great great grandmother O.C. Sarah Smith either is or is not of Cherokee descent," the group's spokesman said.

Oh, now you're doing some research on it?

Most people go by what their family tells them anatta. Doesn't make it a "lie."

Whereas Trump KNEW they were from Germany, and wrote they were from Sweden.

But hey, that's a yawner for you anyway.

Here we have a week of Trump and his supporters waving their arms and jumping up and down to try to argue that the REAL offense is Warren "lying" about her heritage for some sort of "gain," and not Trump having yet another incredibly awkward and embarrassing moment trying to riff politically at an event honoring heroes.

Oh, but what's that? Trump wrote in his book that his grandfather came from Sweden, when he had come from Germany. And it turns out that this lie WAS for gain, as it was feared a "German" heritage would effect real estate sales.

It seems like an almost impossible hypocrisy - so blatant. Crazy world we're living in today.

this thread reads like you just found out a new factoid on the back of a cereal box

It's not "drama," anatta. This is an actual thing - it's hypocrisy. It's Trump making a huge deal about attacking a political opponent for something HE DID.

You sycophants can't address it, so you deflect and call us "obsessed" or whatever. It's extraordinarily telling.

do you have proof he did this:

1) intentionally
2) for the reasons you stated?

I used to always think I was french. Turns out I am way more scottish irish and english. A lot of people don't have their exact ancestry pegged down.

Do you have proof he did this for real estate sales?

It's pretty conclusive pocahauntus straight up lied about her background to get a job.

nope. you do not declarations fort advantage on a form on what you think you heard from a grandparent. That's fraud.

as to Trump we've been over that. enough of this hysteria

I think we need to get one thing clear: I absolutely do not care about the ancestry thing, for anyone. I agree wholeheartedly that most of us get it from what our family tells us. The only reason I posted about this relates to the incredible hypocrisy of Trump to MAKE it an issue about Warren.

This is what was reported:

"“He said, ‘You don’t sell apartments after the war if you’re German,’ ” John Walter, a family historian and one of Donald Trump’s cousins, said in an interview. “So he’s Swedish, no problem.”

I think it's unlikely that Donald himself wasn't aware of this, but it's possible. Regardless, he's going by what his family told him, just like Warren was.

so it wasn't even donald trump himself that did this? how old was trump after world war ii?

also you don't find a difference between trying to avoid discrimination and deliberately using an affirmative action policy to benefit oneself?

Judge grind has ruled this not comparable, not hypocritical, not the same situation at all, and has dismissed this case with prejudice.

Yup, Trump made it an issue. What is funny is that you think it costs him. He wins on all of these issues.

You bring up the NFL, did the NFL come out ahead on this? Not at all.

Neither will Warren.
