Roy Moore's attorney holds news briefing

I can't believe anyone is defending this creep.....

The allegations are relatively solid and his defense just has no credibility at all.....
And the icing on the cake is he was Democrat at the time of all of this.....
:palm::):innocent:

But, that's like saying the women wouldn't have minded him becoming their governor, but couldn't take the thought of him becoming a senator.

That could be true.

"Moore has been a controversial figure in American politics for some time but mostly at the edges. His fight to preserve a monument to the Ten Commandments in a state building 15 years ago gained him national attention — but not necessarily national importance. Now, he’s seeking election to the Senate, one of 100 people who make up one half of the legislative branch of government. It’s a much more important fight nationally, and, as a result, has attracted much more attention.

There’s a reason that people with skeletons in their closets are loath to seek elected office: Once they do, the scrutiny that is a natural part of the campaign process threatens to expose those skeletons. This is less true for lower-level elected positions, where there is less media attention and fewer resources. For something like the Senate or the presidency, though, that scrutiny is both intense — and should be expected."

Again, the first four women didn’t come forward, they were sought out, once more than one come forward other women feel there is believability in numbers.

I don’t know why reporters didn’t go after him during his other run for office, but this time, they did.

Maybe because billionaire Jeff Bezos hadn't concocted a scheme to prevent the Trump agenda from passing the Senate until last week?

I am prepared to believe facts, Christiecrite.

Not rumors. Not allegations. Not suddenly-recalled reminiscences that seem suspicious in their timing.

And not Y O U, unless you have evidence.

Deal with it.

They look very, very similar to Y O U.

You are no more a board-certified graphologist than the "kid" whose picture Y O U posted as "proof" that the signatures match.

:rofl2:

If you're prepared to believe facts then you can't logically take either side in this issue, unless you think either Moore or the women are giving facts. So whose facts are you believing here?

Nice speedy job fixing your rofl2, BTW. Kept me from highlighting it in red.

Maybe, the reporters were convincing, read the article christiefan listed. Maybe, they felt they would finally be believed.

Even if none this stuff about women came up, Moore would still be a horrible candidate. He's not only corrupt and unethical, he has a religious-centered viewpoint on how the country should be run.

Fake-Signature-Roy-Moore5-450x270.jpeg

Why, oh, why, did Christiecrite post this image that shows 12 dissimilarities between Moore's purported yearbook signature signature and another sample?

I'm especially curious to learn why she chose an image that came from an obscure con website article that says the yearbook signature was forged.

There are new accusers coming out, yes I see that. I'm just interested to see what he's got for defense. Let it play out. At least Moore's name has never popped up on the flight log of the Lolita Express...still early though, maybe it will.

I have seen you on this board claiming that Michelle Obama is a transvestite, that "she" is actually a man.

But "suddenly" now, you want to take things slow and let evidence and actual facts be collected?

Surely, you jest.

It was thinking that he was above the law that disgusted me, this latest revelation just intensifies it.

The "reporters were convincing" to people predisposed to believe something negative about a conservative with only allegation, rumors and innuendo, you mean.

Thanks for proving Moore was a very well known and controversial figure in AL lol.

He made his name by placing a monument of the Ten Commandments in the court house. Moore made national news several times. In fact, I’m sure the establishment media loathed him for the Commandments bit.

It also shows that his ethics are suspect.

If you're prepared to believe facts then you can't logically take either side in this issue, unless you think either Moore or the women are giving acts. So whose facts are you believing here?

I will be content to wait for the facts before declaring anyone guilty.

If you think that's taking sides, that's your problem.

I don't think any facts will be forthcoming, since it's highly unlikely that any real evidence is forthcoming. Proof is never needed in smear campaigns.

This is "he said/she said/I heard" all the way, so far.

Remind me, what happened to the women who accused Herman Cain?

"Reinhard said the groundwork for the story began when a Washington Post reporter was in Alabama doing some reporting on Moore's supporters. She said that's when their attention was drawn towards "these rumors [that] were emerging that he had relationships with teenage girls."

Reinhard said they spent weeks pursuing leads and that none of the women they spoke to were eager to go public but finally agreed to do so after multiple interviews.

"They did not seek out this attention," Reinhard said. The Post report also said that according to campaign reports none of the women they interviewed donated or worked for the campaigns for Moore's political rivals, including Democrat Doug Jones."

Well, they're lawyered up now.
