Why would I need to tell you where I attended college any more than where I live or what I do?

Is your self-esteem wrapped in that as well as how good your football team is? Quite pathetic.

Not sure where that guy lives, but back in Missouri it was pronounced "No-ter Daym". St Louis is a French-influenced city with many French place names, as well as some Spanish ones. It was amusing how they were Americanized and how your GPS would try to restore them to the original but manage to butcher that as well.

People speak: Creve Coeur Lake: Creeve Core. Carondolet: Care On Do Let. Chouteau: Show-tow. Moscow (MO): Moss-ko. Cairo (MO): Kay-row.
GPS speak: Creeve Core. Cah-ron-do-lay. Chow-too. One of my favorites was when I was approaching Ladue Road on my way home. It was always called Lah-dew by ppl but the GPS wanted to give it its state designation of MO AB (Missouri road AB). It pronounced it as Moab, like in the Bible. lol

We also had a German influx and those place names were likewise Anglicized in weird and hilarious ways.

Being in the melting pot of the globe is pretty cool!

Oh I know how it should be pronounced as I speak French. I also know how you lot love to fuck languages up. There is a secondary school near me called Notre Dame and they pronounce it properly, well good enough for Yorkshire anyway, and don't feel the need to act like pig-ignorant Septics.
