World leaders make deals without USA

Given that Obama called for passage of this in the dark of night, we don't really know what's in it. There are a few issues that may or may not have been reported accurately during the hoopla, so I'm on the fence. But....get used to this. Sure....the world enjoyed boosts to their economies when we ran to them for cheap labor. By removing the US from future agreements, they might suffer some in the labor market, but with enough partners, they'll survive.

This was fuzzy all along. Supposedly, this issue is already in place in a number of agreements, with the U.S never suffering for it.

According to the AP, the statement said the officials worked to preserve “the high standards, overall balance and integrity of the TPP while ensuring the commercial and other interests of all participants and preserving our inherent right to regulate, including the flexibility of the parties to set legislative and regulatory priorities.”

when trump pandered to right wing morons by backing out of TPP he screwed our economy. The orientals were desperate to align with the US and our negotiators used that to advantage. There is a ton of info available for those that can google.

I am just disappointed and embarrassed by this President who thinks people like him, when it is well known he is easily flattered and more easily duped by flattery.

I don't understand this 'pulling out' of TPP? I don't remember us ever being in it, as Congress didn't approve it? When trump made believe we pulled out, he said he'd be the one to renegotiate the U.S's position in TPP.

Looks like the ship sailed with him standing at the dock.

Trump-ettes won't care about the damage their Orange Clown causes to American reputation and our national welfare.

It is very clear the number one reason they elected him is because they perceive him as he "sticking it to" liberals. Some of them here even admit they voted for him, in large part, "to make Desh feel bad".

I literally saw rightwingers post their hopes that the GOP congress would not pass the debt extension under Obama, thinking that it would crash the economy and history would blame Obama for a depression.

So we are contemplating a political party whose base is beyond reason and maturity.

Former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), her opponent in the Democratic presidential primary, had also opposed the TPP, a signature trade accomplishment of former President Obama.
