Lockheed Martin has been contracted to make my lifelong dream of laser weapons a reality. It will be fun to see just how powerful and reliable the laser option can become.

In 2014, the Navy mounted and tested a laser on the USS Ponce. More recently, the US Army successfully tested a laser mounted on an Apache helicopter, and in August, Lockheed successfully shot down five drones with its new ATHENA laser system.

It was only a matter of time before they figured out how to overcome atmospheric disturbances and effect on light. Cool stuff indeed!
