How do we know that they didn't try to influence it in some way?

Let's say that they did not. Why not?

1) The time and expense involved wasn't worth it to them.
2) People who have spent generations living under a strong centralized government underestimate the importance of regional/local elections.
 
Probably cause they weren't interested, what does the Governor of Virginia or Jersey do for them, besides, with the facts coming out daily the environment is too hot

Russia tried to depress turnout with bad weather but the effort came up short lol.

Is the purpose of this post to try to prove the Russians did not influence the 2016 presidential election because they didn't influence this election?

If so, you failed miserably.
 
I didn't know Trump was running for Governor in Virginia and Jersey, how that happen?

Forget Democrat/Republican, maybe they only interfere when Trump is running, seems events might be reinforcing that scenario
