The gun shop did a check. The gun shop in question (an Academy Sports & Outdoors store in San Antonio) ran the same check that all FFL gun sellers in the USA are required to run by federal law. Texas is part of the USA and is subject to federal law.
Maybe you can tell me what "state check" would have overruled the federal one. Naturally, I will understand if you can't.
I noticed you avoided the fact that the suspected Antifa shooter was denied a Texas CCW permit, so apparently Texas isn't the lax criminal paradise you think it is.
Gee numb nuts what do you think I said from the beginning? If Texas had a mandatory state required background check they could have used another database that might have flagged him as not eligible to buy a gun. God are you that dense?
