Also that most violence happens between people that know each other. If a large part of the population is minorities, then odds are good that the violent crime will be minority on minority. None of this means we shouldn't strive to also stem the tide of random acts of mass violence like Vegas or Texas.

and as it has been asked each time incidents like these happen... WHAT would you suggest be done?
 
Honestly, I don't own a gun, and I'm not against ever owning a gun if I feel the need arises, so I'm not gonna try and act like I know exactly what would help stop stuff like this from happening re: gun control, but I think the "nothing can be done" attitude is defeatist.

I would ask all gun owners here if they thought there were ANYTHING that could be done. I'm not even talking about laws necessarily.
