I don't know where you get your information. To sell a gun in the USA a FFL holder is required to perform a background check. There are no exceptions.

This the Texas Department of Public Safety info on the subject:

The Department was required to establish a procedure to provide federal prohibited person information to the Federal Bureau of Investigation for use with the National Instant Criminal Background Check system (NICS). The online transactions submitted via the Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) Site are forwarded to the NICS system.

A federally-required check (NICS) was performed on the suspected Antifa shooter at the point of sale, and he reportedly had no prohibitive criminal history on file in the database at the time he purchased the weapon legally.

Because after he completed his sentence the charge was 'dismissed'... not sure why. Just what I read so far. So with it dismissed, he can then claim no felonies.

Earlier reports said the gun shop didn't do a background check. But I see that was wrong and he passed one when he shouldn't have so who dropped the ball pal?

The man had no criminal history at the time he purchased the weapon.

Nobody dropped any balls.

Gun "control" laws and background checks are ineffective, but lying liberals want more of them - even though we know they don't stop criminals from getting weapons.

If a killer can't get a gun he'll rent a truck from Home Depot.

So, are you convinced that Texas does not allow the purchase of weapons without requiring the federally-mandated background check?
