The us version is also ostensibly religious and strictly textual according to their television priests. They both use lies for propaganda and prey on angry youth as a recruitment tool. Both use the internet freedom to propagate lies because it is not feasible to censor and both attack and wish to destroy the establishment. Although they are on different teams they are very clearly playing the same game. And in point of fact, as between the two there is a basis for a bargain. They want the exact same things.

I have always though eliminating the minimum wage, deregulating wall street, and tax policy minutia was never a realistic metaphor for conservatism. You could fit all the people who obsess over that CATO institute, Austrian School of economics crap into an elementary school cafeteria.
I always thought a more appropriate metaphor for movement conservatism was the Creation Science Museum, the Confederate Flag, the Border Wall, and other comparable symbols of nationalism and religious fundamentalism.
