Well, just seem more likely to flip early than risk a conviction. I get the idea Mueller over-charged them in order to instigate a flip and whiffed on the gambit.

Assuming there's anything to flip. Though I suppose they could make up something.

Or as Jared stated, they didn’t feel the need and were too late, we just don’t know what Mueller and his team have found.

Manafort is filthy. Hopefully, his money laundering operation violated state law, which makes him liable despite any attempts by the 'pardoner in chief'.

The only good reason to plead innocent is if you think you can beat the charge. And if that happens, Mueller gets nothing.

People plead not guilty even when they know there is a snowballs chance in hell they’ll get off, so your statement is completely wrong.

I only know what I read about him and I trust about half of that.

As it is, he's innocent till proven guilty. Still seems a little dicey to plead innocent when you know you're not. If I were Manafort and knew Mueller had a good case against me I'd be willing to talk. If he's that sketchy a character he could always make something up.

And I would be bargaining now, not after a trial.

Correct. And this is high jeopardy multi count indictment. I'm pretty sure I'd want to at least see the people's discovery before I shackle myself for the rest of my life.
