I don't think it is false equivalence. Pedophilia in the Catholic church is horrid. Pedophilia in public schools is horrid. Pedophilia in hollywood is horrid. They are all the same. The Catholic Church (I grew up Catholic) hid the problem. Very few priests were held accountable. Hollywood hides pedophiles and very few are held accountable. At least the public school system tosses their asses to the justice system when found.

Again, we don't know. That said, it is not a false equivalence. It is the exact same issue. Pedophilia.
Quoting numbers is meaningless for the reason I mentioned. Two of the groups hide the perverts from justice. The public school system tosses the perverts to the justice system. So while you may HEAR more about the public school offenders... that doesn't mean there are more of them.
