Putin Says Americans Should Not 'Disrespect' Trump, Because He's the President and 'Doesn't Need Any Advice'

Russian President Vladimir Putin has called on U.S. citizens to stop disrespecting President Donald Trump, a trend that the Russian leader called a symptom of a poor political system in the U.S.

Putin, who U.S. officials have*accused of swaying the 2016*U.S. presidential race in Trump's favor, broke a streak of hostile diplomatic exchanges between the two leading powers during a speech Thursday in order to defend his former political ally from what he considers unfair criticism at home. Speaking at the*Valdai Discussion Club in Sochi,*Putin again denied any claims of Russian interference in last year's U.S. elections, asserting that Trump "won honestly" and that he and his supporters have behaved legitimately in response to the current U.S. political climate.

"Inside the country, disrespect is shown for him. This is a regrettable negative component of the U.S. political system," Putin said, according to the state-run Tass Russian News Agency.

What's it to Putin?

Let's just say he has a stake in Dumpster Donnie's success or failure, and wasn't expecting the degree of backlash that his little game has resulted in.

In Putin's perfect world, his meddling would've either gone totally undetected or been written off as a looney conspiracy theory long ago.

That the issue has grown such a strong, healthy and fit pair of marathon legs has got him concerned that all the time, effort and expense that went into their plans will eventually end up having been for nothing.

Viva Mueller!!!!!

Inside the country, disrespect is shown for him. This is a regrettable negative component of the U.S. political system," Putin said, according to the state-run Tass Russian News Agency.

"One can argue but one can’t show disrespect, even not for him personally but for those people who voted for him," he added.
the "disrespect" is the insane Russiaphobia that Congress puts on Russian sanctions -
tieing TRumps ability to improve relations.

Newsweek completely misses the Sochi conference - it's damn near fake news.
Here are pertinent remark by Putin:

Russian President Vladimir Putin says U.S. President Donald Trump's political foes have prevented him from fulfilling his election promises.

Asked if Russia is annoyed with Trump's unpredictability, Putin said Thursday that it's linked to a "strong resistance inside the country."

Russia hopes for rebuilding ties with Washington have been shattered by congressional and FBI investigations into Trump campaign ties with Russia.

Speaking at the Valdai forum of policy experts, Putin said Trump's political adversaries "haven't allowed him to fulfill any of his election plans."

At the same time, he added that Russia will remain open to cooperate with the United States.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is warning that Moscow would retaliate immediately if Washington restricts the operations of Russian news outlets in the United States.

Putin said Thursday at the Valdai forum of foreign policy experts in Sochi that Russia will "momentarily respond quid pro quo" if Washington imposes restrictions on the Russian state-funded RT television network and Sputnik news agency.

RT has said it faces a U.S. demand to register as a foreign agent and provide detailed personal data for its staff. It says the request amounts to an attempt to push it out of the U.S. media market.

U.S. intelligence agencies say that Russia interfered in the 2016 U.S. presidential election. Russia denies the charge.

Russian President Vladimir Putin says that a global ban on nuclear weapons can be achieved in the future.

Putin said Thursday at the Valdai forum for international policy experts that total nuclear disarmament is a possibility that Russia would welcome. He said Russia would "want it and will be striving to achieve that."

Putin noted that new precision weapons now under development could be just as devastating as nuclear weapons. He said Russia is also working on such weapons.

The comments contrast with earlier statements by Putin and other Russian leaders, who have underlined that a global ban on nuclear weapons is unrealistic.

President Vladimir Putin says Russia will adhere to a landmark Cold War-era arms control treaty for as long as the U.S. sticks to it.

At the Valdai forum of international policy experts in Sochi, Putin said Russia has stuck to its obligations under the 1987 Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces Treaty and will continue to do so. U.S. officials have accused Russia of developing missiles in violation of the treaty, a charge Russia has denied.

Putin said the 1987 accord was tilted in the U.S.'s favor, effectively amounting to "unilateral disarmament," as it failed to ban missiles carried by navy ships and aircraft that the U.S. had and the Soviet Union didn't.

He said Russia has since developed such cruise missiles for its navy and air force.

Russia's President Vladimir Putin has warned against driving North Korea into a corner.

While condemning Pyongyang's nuclear ambitions, Putin said the standoff should be settled through dialogue, without "cornering North Korea, threatening to use force or going down to outright boorishness and swearing."

Speaking Thursday to international policy experts at the Valdai forum in Sochi, Putin criticized the U.S. and its allies for missing a chance to build a safer and more stable world after the Cold War.

The Russian leader also noted that the U.S. has been slow to dismantle its chemical weapons arsenals in line with an international treaty, while Russia last month wrapped up the destruction of its chemical weapons stockpiles.

the point of Putin's remarks is that it's the US Congress and Fake News that is standing in the way of improved relations -not Trump or Putin who could make progress without bogus sanctions.

That and the INF violation by Russia is answer to our ship born Tomahawks/cruise missiles

yeppers.
we had no interest in stability, just punishing Russia by NATO expansion.

Russiaphobia run wild.. now we want RT to register as a "foreign agent" WTF?

.. as if Trump deserves respect.

This clown walked into the White House attacking everybody, every institution, reporters and the media, judges and courts, celebrities, former presidents, and even the Intelligence Community without any experience or knowledge about anything outside of life of a smarmy guy who inherited a lot of money. And all the while Trump engaged in his WWE behavior on the world stage his worshipers have stood by his every dunce act like Stepford Wives.

A president who communicates by Twitter. :0)

Where is all that bluster now?

'Respect?'

Lowest polling EVER. There's your respect.

the one time Putin and Trump were able to meet they agreed on a cease fire in Syria that still stands.
Compare that to Clinton's "no fly" in Syria, and attending ground troops for a "humanitarian corridor"

Can you imagine if they could talk on Crimea? or Donbass - or reduction in weaponry?
Even the Arctic needs attention-instead we let the status quo fester
