Should nationalism be actively taught against as an evil political ideology?

America is exceptional because Americans are exceptional & Americans are exceptional because they are Americans.... Everyone knows that... :rolleyes:
 
I'm a U.S. national which makes me a nationalist. I'm not a supremacist, though.
I've travelled to 14 countries on the continents of Europe, Africa and Asia. Then as now, I have admiration and respect for those people, customs, music, food, arts, etc. and appreciate all of the differences between us.
Thankfully, we are not one big boring uniform homogenized world...yet, anyway.
The people of every nation I visited had a perfectly normal and acceptable view of their nation as the best in the world.
And, I think America is the best country in the world.
What's the problem? I wish folks would chill out and simply enjoy the differences and take pride in their own country...or pride in a country they may have chosen to move to. Live and let live.

I could probably be described as a globalist in some respects. For example, I think America's role as 'world leader' is in decline, and the world nations coming together to fill that role is on the rise. I think Trumpism will hasten America's decline, and accelerate this process.

American ideals are proof that any one who believes in blood and soil is a moron. It’s our values and ideals which make us exceptional and not an accident of birth or geography.

you are living in fantasyland. Every country practices nationalism.
They aren't called "nation states" for no reason. We divide our economies and cultures along national lines.

So practice it better then the other guys for economic nationalism, and make policies that best serve your country
