It's unexplainable. When I was a kid ball parks were filled with little league baseball. During summer break I wouldn't leave the house without my baseball glove. Now everywhere I go I see soccer fields filled with kids. The baseball diamonds are usually empty.
The crappy team isn't because of lack of interest.

Probably the best thing that could have happened to US Soccer. They need to complete re-think the way they develop players.

The future is bright w/ Pulisic. And w/ the CTE problem in football, more young athletes will start playing soccer. It will take some time, but they'll get it together.

HS football players get the girls. Soccer players don't. That's why football will continue to get the best athletes.
 
Now if Obama was still President we'd be seeing today that it was "Obama's fault" the US didn't qualify, if he can be blamed for the cost of Coors light rising this surely would have been his doing, probably could have worked up a good conspiracy to boot

We're already seeing it, though - more & more parents are not letting their kids play football, and for very good reason.

CTE is going to bring down the NFL. Not peaceful protests.
 
I'm not a soccer guy but reading last night the issue is the development of our players, not that we don't have good enough athletes.

Brazilian footballers grow up in the back streets and favelas kicking an old ball around, rich kids just don't have the hunger. Go talent spotting in Mexico, Argentina and Brazil and give promising youngsters sports fellowships in the US.
